Pours a cloudy yellow amber with a big frothy white head. Aroma is malt and hop, with slight floral. Taste is mainly malt and a mild hoppiness. Slight smoke in the aftertaste with a floral mix. Interesting beer.

Bouteille 500 ml. 5.3%.

500 ml bottle from Marche Omni, served at cellar temperature in a tulip glass.

App.: hazy deep amber with a decent light tan foam. Aroma: Green, herbaceous, bitter, pine/resinous hops, a little bright, spicy, peppery, almost Saison-ish, a hint of ginger and floral notes, Palate: Medium body, loose, sparse effervescence. Flav.: Plenty of the same hop notes, green, pepper, resin, pine, a little floral, a bit more malt for support (thankfully), a little fruity (apricots, peaches?), a bit of honey, certainly a hop showcase; dry with good bitterness and a biscuit malt and honey finish, lingering bitterness.

Interesting stuff. Bold use of hops. Bravo.

A nice reddish copper ale with a thin white head. A beautiful aroma of green fresh hops, pinhey and pleasant, very discreet and British, some grassy notes. In mouth, a good nutty toasted malt with some nice herbaceous hops, murky, a bit too thin but well done. Bottle 4.69$ at Jovi, Made in Feb. 2009.

500ml bottle
Appearance : AMber with small head.
Aroma : A bit hoppy and malty sweet. Some grain.
Taste : A bit hoppy and mineral. A bit fruity also.
Finish : A bit bitter.
Overall : Not bad actually. I expected a bit less from Chouape.

Bottle - 500ml. Cloudy dark amber body with a good off-white foamy head. Enjoyable and relatively complex malty/hoppy aroma with grainy and fruity hints. Its sharp hoppy taste carries some woody notes and ends with a long bitter finish. Honest amber ale.

500ml bottle, hazy amber-orangeish hue, with a big fluffy white head, yeasty, fruity, nice floral hop leafy nose with some piney, cedary, coniferous accents, and a hint of pine bark in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a yeasty, faint fruity, juicy hop character with some flowery hoppy, piney, resiny flavors, with a mild citrusy, lime note, and a light peppery, leafy minty accent, leading towards a good hop, piney, leafy, resiny, dry bitterness finish.
