A nice reddish copper ale with a thin white head. A beautiful aroma of green fresh hops, pinhey and pleasant, very discreet and British, some grassy notes. In mouth, a good nutty toasted malt with some nice herbaceous hops, murky, a bit too thin but well done. Bottle 4.69$ at Jovi, Made in Feb. 2009.

My Bottom Line:
Earth-covered pine needles dominate the orangey fruitiness in this lean and frothy hoppy quencher.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-There are lots of yeast chunks swirling under the sticky layer of foam, somewhat bothering the cloudy dark amber’s potential.
-This beer’s effervescence is almost Belgian-like, or above 3.0, if you prefer.
-The hop personality is much like a northerly forest floor; earthy, coniferous, a tad leafy and a bit humid as well.
-The decent bitterness is rather resinous, adding some character to the ending dryness.
-The malt structure could be improved here; as is, it does not offer much mroe than light caramel. There are some watery passages as well.
-There are yeasty proclivities throughout.

Bottles; merci Louis!

pours hazy golden-orange with a nice white head, some retention and lacing. fresh spicy malts and hops - peppery orange blossom water, hint of toastiness, leafy-grassiness for a short but assertive finish. floral notes. average carbonation, light body - somewhat almost a watery mouthfeel. not an amber fan, but i enjoy the freshness and spiciness in this one.

(Rating #2436)

In short: A well hopped light-bodied Pale Ale. Entry level but well done.
How: Bottles 500ml. Consumed very fresh soon after the beer release. Tasting session with Montreal crew
The look: Partially cloudy (first glass of bottle) to totally cloudy (last glass of bottle) copper body topped by a very thin off-white head
In long: Nose of leafy and woody hops with a fruity touch. Body is very light but not watery. Carbonation is a bit too much for the thin body. This beer needs more body. Basic neutral malt backbone offering flavourless toasted white bread with a tiny bit of caramel. Next come the woody resinous hops with a medium intensity bitterness. Easy to drink, half-refreshing, nothing problematic but overall very basic. Nothing memorable here but given that this is the first round of bottles from a brand new brewery I say that this is promising. I can name good many breweries that didn’t start that good. I can also name many established breweries that are still not that good. I can also name a few breweries where that do not offer any free parking but what would be pretty irrelevant.

Bottle: Poured a deep hazy amber color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of caramel malt with light toffee. Taste is also dominated by some caramel malt with light toffee notes and a dry finish that is not as hoppy as I had expected. Body is full with limited filtration and good carbonation. Well done for style that is not the most exciting.

Bottle - 500ml. Cloudy dark amber body with a good off-white foamy head. Enjoyable and relatively complex malty/hoppy aroma with grainy and fruity hints. Its sharp hoppy taste carries some woody notes and ends with a long bitter finish. Honest amber ale.
