COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Pours a glowing golden color with three fingers of rocky white foam that lasts throughout the life of the beer. Aromas are dusty hay, citrus zest spicy earthy yeast and traces of pepper and floral grass. Palate follows the nose nicely with great refreshing carbonation, punchy yeast character, spicy hops, peppery and lots of complex layers. Even maybe a touch of brett character that adds to the abrasively bitter dry finish !

Corps moyen, carbonation moyenne. Une bonne bière!

Bottle: Poured a cloudy dirty dark beige color ale with a large foamy head with great retention and some good lacing. Aroma of rustic malt with peppery and spicy notes is quite enjoyable. Taste is also dominated by rustic malt with some peppery and spicy yeast and a dry finish. Body is quite full with great carbonation. Great level of complexity while retaining some good drinkability and keeping the ABV at a moderate level.

500ml bottle from Monde des Bières. Labeled Saison à l’ancienne.
Appearance : Clear pale yellow with big foamy white head. Huge lacing.
Aroma : Nice saison yeast with light notes of bananas. Powerful herbal hops with light floral and piny notes.
Taste : Saison yeast with quite a lot of hops. Floral herbal and pretty bitter for the style. Light resinous and piny notes on the finish. Even a light stickyness. More saison yeast on the finish with bitter hops.
Palate : Carbonation is quite fizzy. Body of light but a bit heavier than the abv would suggest.
Overall : Fairly nice Saison. A bit too resinous and bitter to my taste but still quite good. Lots of character coming from the hops but also from the yeast. Appearance is really nice even if color is a bit pale. Nice persistent finish. Nicely low alcohol while pretty characterful and complex. Very nice example of the style even if slightly out of style because of the hops.

Bottle at La salle a manger. Pour is hazy golden orange with white fluffy head and good lacing. Aroma of yeast, spices (lots of coriander and orange peel), floral hops. Taste is very sipcy again with some light sweet malts and fairly dry finish. Low body and lively carb. Ok saison.

Bouteille 500 ml.

Bottle - 500ml. Hazy blond body with good carbonation an a thick, but fading white foamy/bubbly head. Enjoyable, surprisingly robust, fresh hoppy aroma with grainy, flowery, and citrusy hints. Its sharp, crisp hoppy taste carries coriander, citrusy, and grainy notes. Ends with a long, dry bitter/herbal finish. Very well done.

500 mL bottle from Broue Ha Ha served cool in a tulip glass. Clear bright golden with a nice white foam. Good esters and phenolic notes, pineapple, tropical fruits, spicy green herb notes, lots going on for a lighter beer. Medium-ish body, moderate effervescence. Spicy and estery, wheat and biscuit malts, well done for a lower abv beer; dry with decent bitterness and a spicy and estery finish. A success, on all accounts.
