appearance: classic fucking Belgian head. Golden, hardly translucent. Amber.
Nose: bananas and sex
Mouthfeel: light; sprite-like
Taste: light on the palate, with a pleasant plantain/spicy-yeast laden flavor
Overall: Orval was my previous darling of the Belgian style. This mo’ fucka has a new favorite, y’all.

Hazy, golden beer with a nice fluffy creamy pillow. Fruity smell, citrus, bread, yeast, quite spicy, coriander. Flavour yeasty, malt, spicy and fruity. Slight sweet accents. Always a pleasure.
(Draught @ Cafe du Chera near the Achouffe brewery)

toast, nuts, floral, golden, hazy, white foam, medium sweetness, medium bitterness, medium body, creamy, soft carbonation.
This beer hits you with a loaded handful of hops, to the point that you wonder if you ordered an IPA by mistake. Little head, but great lacing, and nice deep golden color. This is definitely a sipping beer, with a finish that stays with you for a long time.
4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 chefelf (55) - New York, USA - AUG 10, 2011
This was an easy beer for me as it is my favorite style of beer to drink. That being said this was one of the better Belgian Strong Ales I’ve had. It was beautiful in appearance with a nice white foam on top of bronze. Very smooth and almost creamy. I didn’t really pick up on the coriander spoken of on the label so if it was there it was likely pretty subtle.
I’d highly recommend this one to anyone who likes Belgian ale.

Das La Chouffe Blond ist trüb-golden. Ein cremiger Schaum liegt auf dem Bier.
Fruchtige Geruchsmomente.
Geschmacklich hefebetont mit schönem würzig-fruchtigem Aroma. Gut prickelnd. Der Abschluß ist wärmend alkoholisch.
