floydian1 (255), FNQ, Australia Dec 10, 2008 750ml bottle. Lively cloudy golden ale with a dense white head. Nose of fresh apples and oranges with hints of coriander and brine. Thick bodied fizzy mouthfeel with tastes of syrupy oranges and spicy yeasts. Not as sweet as a Leffe blond. A mild bitter finish that lingers. Dangerously drinkable. norsedoc (162), USA Dec 7, 2008 Hazy golden ale with dense white head. Light orange aroma. Tastes of spicy coriander with a warm brown sugar finish. Maybe a little minty on the end. Lightly hopped. Very pleasant and drinkable. hallinghansen (263), Odense SV, Denmark Dec 7, 2008 Bottle 750ml. Golden colour with big white head. Taste spicy and a bit fruity. Aroma is fruity. Love it tronraner (1905), Maryville, Tennessee, USA Dec 6, 2008 Bottle. Pours hazy gold with off-white head. The aroma is strong fruity yeast with some interesting herbal hop notes... smells like tangerines, hibiscus, honey, lemon zest, and a little pepper. The flavor is full of pleasantly spicy hops and a honeyish malt backbone. There is some doughy yeast in there, too, with some tangerine and lemon. The finish is spice and hay hops with a slight sour note. The mild bitterness lingers into the aftertaste. Quite good. Mutualaid (136), Texas, USA Nov 30, 2008 From the notebook: 11/10/2008
Pours amber, unfiltered appearance (good) with a huge, fluffy white head. Honey, currant, and straw aromas with no noticeable hop bouquet. A little bit sweet and sour: honey sweet up front followed by a grain husk astringency; aged hop flavor similar to Orval. Lingering honey sweetness as the beer warms. Medium body with a long clean hoppy finish.
Highly drinkable, which could be dangerous given the alcohol content. Overall, a very good beer that nails the style with ease. Travlr (698), Washington, Washington DC, USA Nov 28, 2008 Cloudy gold color. Aroma of cinnamon and clove. Well-balanced. Slightly bitter finish. Good example of the style. brianbuntz (49), Santa Monica, California, USA Nov 27, 2008 Looks a little like a cloudy lager with bigger bubbles. Tastes like caramel apples and spices. Lightly hopped. Nice, unique beer. tlind2 (560), Helsinki, Finland Nov 21, 2008 750 ml bottle. Golden color, explansive white head. Spicy coriander aroma. Spicy flavor as well, with some alcohol and a malty finish. Medium body, high carbonation. Prickly mouthfeel. The carbonation is too heavy, but the flavor is nice.
