Pours hazy gold/copper with lots of carbonation and a nice white head. A sweet, watery nose with lots of fruit (oranges, grapefruit), and some spicy, grassy hops. Highly carbonated, the flavor is not as sweet but with some fruit, yeast, and more of a hop presence. A larger body than expected, the carbonation really keeps this fresh and invigorating. An interesting beer, where some things work for me and some don’t.

On tap at Pater’s Vaetje, Antwerp. Pours cloudy golden with a huge white head. Aroma is nice and spicy with notes of wheat and hops. Flavour is very fruity and fresh and leaves a long aftertaste.

Bottled 75cl. It pours hazy orange beer with a white head. Strong lovely aroma with notes of coriander. Terribly pleasant taste. Sweet. The alcohol is well hidden. Medium bodied. Hints of coriander. Spicy finish. Flawless. A great beer. Rerate: Definately a fantastic beer- notes of coriander, cinnamon and lovely german hops in both aroma and taste. Spicy, fruity, perfectly balanced, highly drinkable and deeply pleasant.

Pours a golden orange color with a large lacing white head. Very complex flavors, most notably sweet and fruity (orange?). Medium body and very drinkable.

1.5l ’collector’s edition’ Big Chouffe 2007. Medium head that fades to a surface with some lace. Smells fantastic, earthy, with straw, some spicy hop, candy, apricot, a bit tropical. Taste is a bit aggressive at first with hop bitterness and an effervescent bite. Light peachiness and sweetness comes in followed by a medium length dry finish. Some light alcohol vapors in the nostrils.Really good beer, especially when it warms up.

Tasted 7/8/08. Draft from The Stables, St. Louis. HAzy with a dull golden hue. Lacing white head. A pleasant mix of toffee and citrus in the nose. Sugary malts and mild hops. Full bodied with sweet smooth malts. Bubblegum yeast character. Good effervescence. Bitter citrus notes. Bready malts and peppery flavors. Bone dry finish. Solid!

pours looking like pale yellow apple cider, with head that disapeared immediately. aroma of sour air. mild flavor with a touch of spices. i’m too much of a heathen to identify any of the ingredients. slightly effervescent mouth feel with a hint of sourness in the finish. not particularly appealing, but inoffensive.
