unlike most of the other raters i notices the booze in this but that’s my only complaint-an otherwise fine belgian strong ale with enjoyable and not overwhelming citrus and spice notes

(Bottle) Keg_Juggler’s pick of the week. A generous treat! Pours a bright golden color with persistent head and lacing. Naturally murky with an aroma of yeast and fresh dough. Alcohol is well hidden. The flavor is mild and well balanced. Superior to Duvel in my opinion.

Bottle, thanks emacgee. Pours cloudy golden orange with a small lasting white ring of head and eventual lace. Nose is zesty and spicy. Light citrus/herbal hop presence. Orange juice concentrate, lemon, white pepper. Flavor is a little muted and understated, especially when compared with the bursting and complex aroma. Slightly spicy and sweet but mainly watery is how I would describe the flavor if I were telling someone about this experience. Easy drinking, but not worth the price.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 TizzleJizzle (146) - Garland, Texas, USA - SEP 4, 2010
Aroma of spruce, clove, and other basement aromas. Poured a golden color with orange yeast throughout the beer matrix. Excellent foam and lacing. Tasted watery (the 8% is hidden very well), spice, and dough. Not as good as Mc Chouffe, but pretty damn good none the less. I would recommend.

UPDATED: MAR 8, 2011 draft @ Birreria Freelance (Mergozzo). Amazing golden beer. Citrus, lemon taste, some spices, creamy and fruity, fine & delicate.

Bouteille 750 ml. 8%. Couleur jaune or avec une mousse blanche. Arômes de levure et un peu d’agrumes. Assez présente en bouche, petit goût d’agrumes et de malt. Finale sans grande amertume.

Hops and coriander on the nose, a good mix. Looks blonde, okay head. Flavour is grains, fruit notes, sour corn. Slightly dry finish. A very nice Belgian blonde.

Bottle. Very tasty. Pours a clear, clean gold with a white head, just like the related picture. Crisp and easy to drink, yet complex and spicy. Maybe some pepper. Hard to really pin it down. Not hoppy, but not sweet. You could taste a bit of the alcohol in it, it had a nice bite to it.
