La Chouffe

Pours a vibrant lemon yellow colour, cloudy with a large fluffy white head. Great body, excellent retention in the sticky resinous head. Nice and citrusy, a great soft mild wheat mouthfeel. Well carbonated, great floral hop character on the nose.

A beautiful looking gold, with a lively white head- good carbonation, body slightly cloudy due to the unfiltered. A perfect summer cafe beer with a bit of citrus to it.

Bottle (750ml). Poured a honeyed brown with a large, dense, off-white head which was mostly lasting. Strong pear notes in the aroma with sweet bready malts, lemon zest, dried apricots, coriander, cinnamon and some cloves (mild). Flavor was of sweet bready malts with pears, lemon zest, white pepper (alcohol) and a spicy finish (coriander and cinnamon). Full bodied with lively carbonation, a creamy mouthfeel and a good finish.

Pours hazy golden color with off white head. Doughy aroma. Sweet malt flavor with Belgian yeast, corriander, some hops and citrus. Medium body with lively carbonation and a creamy mouthfeel. A decent BSA.

Bottle. Pours a light hazy golden body with a big white fluffy head. Aroma/taste light fruit citrus, orange, lemon, spicy pepper, clove. Finishes dry with a light etoh presence.

Cloudy, orange-tan brew with a nice head and lacing. Summery floral-malt aroma, plus a hint of citrus. The label claims this used to be brewed by gnomes. A spicy malt taste, with a little orange and clove (the label says coriander). It is not too sweet, tho - the hops are noticable and there is a champagne-like dryness. A fine representative of good Belgian ale.

White head on an orange body with some floaters. A flat broad aroma with a hint of the warming alcohol below. Vegemite and vegetable matter. A big strong back end. Prefer a pils over this style but impressive nevertheless.
