Slipstream (734), USA May 27, 2008 Cloudy, orange-tan brew with a nice head and lacing. Summery floral-malt aroma, plus a hint of citrus. The label claims this used to be brewed by gnomes. A spicy malt taste, with a little orange and clove (the label says coriander). It is not too sweet, tho - the hops are noticable and there is a champagne-like dryness. A fine representative of good Belgian ale. madquacker (707), Canberra ACT, Australia May 27, 2008 White head on an orange body with some floaters. A flat broad aroma with a hint of the warming alcohol below. Vegemite and vegetable matter. A big strong back end. Prefer a pils over this style but impressive nevertheless. DandyWolfFloyd (331), Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania, USA May 27, 2008 Excellent. Beautiful. Aroma is full to the max, with mildly sweet fruits. It has a little licorice in the smell as well. It is a golden amber, with a very fluffy head. Its extremely full of a yeasty flavor, with mild malts, moderately sweet fruits, and a little liquor, and licorice. It’s super light, with a nice carbonated body, and smooth taste. WallyWalrus (205), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA May 19, 2008 750ml bottle. Pours a cloudy golden amber with a billowy white head. Aroma is light and sweet, with a distinct hoppy overtone joined by added hints of cloves, coriander, yeast, and perhaps a bit of caramel. Taste is creamy and relatively full, with a very sweet initial flavor of banana, bread, and spices giving way to an odd finish that’s partially bitter hops and partially sour fruit. The odd finish only lasts for the first few sips, after which it’s more of a pleasant mix of warming alcohol and syrupy hops. Lightly flavored but full bodied, another nice Chouffe brew. TrefwoordPunk (549), Leiden, Netherlands May 18, 2008 Bottle 75 cl. Pours an orangey golden with a small white head and an aroma of caramel with a sourish note. Flavor is sweet, with lots of brown sugar and caramel and gets a bit sourish in the end. Finish is caramel with some bitterness. Nice brew! kiefdog (1567), Tampa, Florida, USA May 18, 2008 On tap at Moon River Brewing on 5/17/08. Pours a clear golden color with a one-finger white head that heavily laces the glass throughout consumption. Heavily carbonated. Aroma: Banana and spice. Flavor: Creamy mouthfeel with slight sweetness throughout. Yeast, bread, spice, fresh cut grass and hay are present. Slightly watery and bitter finish, but not unpleasant. Generally well-balanced. docswife (27), Morganfield, Kentucky, USA May 16, 2008 Pours a hazy golden yellow with thick foamy white head. Aroma of clove and apple. Light and fruity taste. Very drinkable. Acknud (770), Morganfield, Kentucky, USA May 15, 2008 Pours a hazy dark yellow. Frothy huge head. Aroma is of malt. I found the aroma very weak. Taste was of strong malt with a mild hoppyness. Some spices noted.
