jacobwennbom (274), Uppsala, Sweden Mar 9, 2008 As this is uncostly beer is indeed a very good one it’s undoubtly worth it’s price. Aroma is a bit like apples of the Ingrid Marie-kind. Lots of acidity, feel "belgian" (as it indeed turns out to be). Taste is very sweet, almost, just almost too much so. Some say they sense thyme in the taste, but I don’t know about that. Quite fiery though, the alcohol gives a nice warming touch to the whole thing. Some acidity. Nice. Aggie80 (708), Michigan, USA Mar 8, 2008 Hoppy aroma with the scent of having just come out of a package of hops. Color was golden with clumps of yeast floating around in it. Mild flavor with undertones of esters and spice. Slight alcoholic bit in the after taste, but not extreme. mjg74 (1995), La Mesa, California, USA Mar 7, 2008 Bottle from BevMo. Pours a golden straw color with ample head and carbonation. Dry peppery aroma with a hint of sweet tropical fruit. Sublime sweet flavors balance out the dry peppery bitterness. A fine well balanced BSA. One of the better ones I’ve had the pleasure of sipping. gowdy (155), Ferney-Voltaire, France Mar 7, 2008 Bottle at home. caramel, hay, floral, golden, cloudy, frothy, light sweetness, lightly bitter, medium body, slick feel, lively, DruncanVeasey (2690), The Penguin’s Arms, Europe, Warwickshire, England Mar 6, 2008 Different class. 750ml bottle ’laid down’ for some time. Soupy haze, massive froth and snowstorm sediment. Peppery marmalade aroma with honey, grainy malt, coriander and citrus. Perfumey, smooth and soapy. Chunky fat orange peel citrus, smoky honey, biscuity pale malt, some residual hop bitterness wading through the thick perfume. Solid, mellow Belgian sessions. AmEricanbrew (1747), Louisiana, USA Mar 6, 2008 Light amber with a frothy white head. Good bready malt nose with lazy susan spices and herbs including cannabis bud. Medium body with a chewy mouthfeel. Nice pale malt, yeasty taste with coriander, ginger flavors. A nicely spiced up brew here. IPAGargoyleGuy (139), Troy, NY, New York, USA Mar 5, 2008 One of the most balanced belgians I have had. Sweet, spicy, and fruity. Very smooth and drinkable. TheJester (694), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada Mar 4, 2008 750 mL (green) bottle. (Best before 21/09/2010). Translucent amber-orange with a huge, fluffy white head that sticks around and leaves perfect lacing. Yeasty-spicy aroma. The flavour is candi sugar sweet, with spice, a bit of fruit (peach), and malt. Slight bitterness in the finish. Full body, medium to heavy carbonation. Good stuff.
