UPDATED: SEP 23, 2010 Bottle pour to Trappist glass gives dark yellow-orange moderately cloudy color with thin brief white head. Aroma of citrus and dark fruits. Taste fairly light with citrus, dark fruits, yeasts, malts. A bitter hop on the finish that acts like it will linger then disappears. Palate moderate. Overall a nice BSA that is maybe a little underpowered next to the top-of-the-line beers but still very drinkable. I’d drink it again.

Hazy golden with a big frothy white head. Light fruits, a little spice and bread in the aroma. Light sweetness and bitterness. A littile more bitterness would make it more enjoyable, but it’s still a nice drink when relaxing in the sun.

On tap at Chappy’s Taproom in Dayton, OH. Dark gold color with very light head, if any. Aroma of fruits and spice. Has a very very light hop taste, barely really. Spice in the flavor along with assorted fruits but banana seemed to stick out. Good refreshing beer. The 8% ABV doesn’t really stand out.

UPDATED: MAY 18, 2010 Bottle. I can’t believe it took me so long to try this. Pours an almost clear glowing orange straw color with a taller frothy foamy creamy white head. Aroma is quite hoppy, noble hops, lightly skunked, some doughy candied Belgian yeastiness. First taste is strong of noble hops, doesn’t hold up so long as the sweeter doughiness overtakes it, a longer lasting bitterness with some alcohol warmth lasts in the finish and aftertaste, some white-wine like flavors. Not super sweet, but seems to actually be better with some food. Medium bodied, just a bit of chalkiness with softer larger carbonation. Oh yea, my 1700th rating.

On tap at Chappy’s Tap Room in Dayton. Served in a snifter glass. Golden murky color, thin head produces a collar around the edge of the glass that sticks around a while. Floral aroma with noticeable belgian yeast characteristics. Banana and more belgian yeast flavors. Fruity flavors including apples and pears with some spice notes (presumably coriander). Medium bodied, nicely carbonated and effervescent, spicy yeast flavors in the aftertaste. Decent Belgian beer, but it didn’t stand out to me as anything being very distinctive or outstanding. Somewhat light and refreshing despite the 8% ABV.

11.2 oz. bottle courtesy of a trade with AtlAggie. Pours a hazy gold with a moderate white head that faded to a film by mid-glass and left fairly consistent lace. Pleasant aroma of citrus and just a bit of apple, bread, and light spice. The flavor is very similar with the same fruit, bread and spice combination. Effervescent, but not prickly on the palate. An enjoyable beer.
