Bouteille verte de 750 ml. Arômes de levure et d’épices. Robe dorée, belle effervescence. Goût citronné prononcé, équilibré par les épices et la levure. Arrière-goût de houblon et d’alcool. Une bière très bien équilibrée.

750 mL bottle at Flat Rock Saloon. Poured slightly hazy dark gold. Fluffy white head that left mild streaks of lace. Yeasty and peppery. Fruity as well with citrus and coriander undertones. Have had this several times before, suprised I hadn’t rated it.

750ml bottle. Pouring this into my tulip, I see a cloudy, murky golden amber beer with a light and well-carbonated pillar of fluffy head sitting on top. Little to no lacing in the glass. The aroma is citrus and some sweet sugary treats. All kinds of spices. Stings a bit, but certainly enjoyable. An interesting taste starts this brew off. Artisan bread prepared in a distinctly European street corner bakery in the market. Raw, spicy, grainy, wooden, and enjoyable. Loses a bit of that unique touch as the beer warms up, though. A little hoppy, but nothing overwhelming; in fact it’s welcome. Very smooth on the palate. Watery. Drinkable despite the undetectable 8%. Warming and comforting after sitting for a bit.

Sweet aroma with a touch of yeast. Taste, less yeasty (a good thing to me), some herbal notes, sweet but with a dry finish. Served a bit too cold at a local bar, too bad

11.2 oz bottle. Pours a nice peachy-gold with voluminous white head that settles to a dense cap. Chunks of yeast from an uncautious pour bob adventurously in the glass. Nose has the aroma of something like charcoal but fruitier, and fresh mown grass. Very lively on the palate, not too sweet but floral and perfumy, apples and pears and a hint of anise seed blend towards a medicinally bitter finish. An interesting take on the style, one to revisit once in a while.

Pours a pale yellow golden color. Head is medium to large with fizzy yeasty qualities. Nose is spicy and maybe a bit sour. Taste is oaky grassy, of sugar, and the finish is dry. Can’t remember that much from this one other than it was good but not great.

Murky light copper hue with a big, frothy, soapy looking white head. The aroma is flush with a whole host of elements: pears, light and grainy breads, damp moss, sugar, cedar, nutmeg, ginger, apple pie, peaches and oak. Overall, mostly bright with some darker edges. A small knock is that it gets a bit soapy at times, probably the yeast. The flavour is fairly sweet and sort of spicy and herbal to begin. It shifts to a dryish affair at the finish, a bit leathery, mossy, grassy and yeasty. Quite a silky texture, medium to full body and champagne like carbonation. Refreshing, invigorating and fun...but the yeast doesn’t sit perfectly with me. BBE 29/08/2010, 75cl bottle.

Glass at Trappist. Nice Belgian style ale, Great yeasty aromas and a nice head. Flavors of bread, spices and oranges with a bit of piney hops in the background. Very smooth with a nice spicy finish.
