Really enjoyed this beer BuckeyeSammy (454), Cleveland, Ohio, USA Dec 4, 2007 Nice thick head. Aroma is dry and very lightly yeasty. Very spiced, not as fruity as i would have liked. Enjoyable beer. Light golden unfiltered color. SamGamgee (1396), Santa Cruz (La Selva), California, USA Dec 4, 2007 Draught at De Baiaard, Amsterdam, 12-2-07. Opaque gold with a big and firm white head. Aroma is pretty dry and yeasty. The flavor is also restrained in its sweetness, with lots of spice. Medium body, with medium and smooth carbonation. I found it to have good balance and drinkability, but it felt a little bland compared to the other Belgian strong ales I had in Amsterdam armando629 (956), Budapest, Hungary Dec 1, 2007 Updated: Apr 25, 2008This is a complex, balanced belgian stuff. Spicy and fruity, good aftertaste.Strong and drinkable, characteristic and fine.Drink it at a right temperature! It might be one of my favourite beers... Jukkabro (2983), Tampere, Finland Dec 1, 2007 Golden colored with hazy appearance. Huge white head. Strong spices dominate the rich aroma, some duvelish notes with orange and milc alcohol. Yeast also obvious here, nice aroma. Flavor is also rich with same dominating spices and orange, surprisingly strong carbonation. Aftertaste dries strongly with yeast and spices, alcohol only slightly here. Quite Duvelish brew. Snojerk321 (1917), San Diego, California, USA Nov 29, 2007 Nose of spice, light citrus, and yeast. Poured a hazy golden color. Refreshing for a belgian ale. patrick820 (69), San Luis Obispo, California, USA Nov 27, 2007 Aroma is spicy and fruity, pours cloudy amber with white head, flavor is very balanced, fruity, malty, with hints of spice, some alcohol in the finish. delightful small carbonation. MarkBarnes (264), Waterville, New York, USA Nov 23, 2007 Nov. 23, 2007; bottle. This is a superbly-balanced Belgian golden ale. Fresh, fruity, spicy -- with satisfying malt undertones. Tiny suspended particulate matter is seen when holding the glass to light. Rating this to style (a style which is clearly not everyone’s cup of tea), I can find very little wrong with this beer, which easily works year ’round -- refreshing enough in Summer, and hearty enough in Winter. Highly recommended.
