Here in Quebec we have a beer named "Blonde d’Achouffe" that is a pale imitation of this awesome beer from the Ardennes. If you live in Quebec go to the SAQ an grab the real Chouffe : it will be a very good comparison test to separate a normal beer from an exquisite one :)

Bottle from Kenny Road Market. Pours a hazy golden amber with a fluffy white head. Aroma is largely yeasty with traces of bananas and citrus. The taste carried over the fruitiness of the aroma and added a little hoppy bitterness and an understated spiciness. I actually wish it were a little more spicy; it would have further enhanced the complexity of the flavors. Bubbly mouthfeel. I’m a little afraid that it was served too cold, so I’ll probably rerate.

Bottle at Paters ’Vaetje, Antwerp, Belgium, 19-02-10 Had this on numerous occasions without ever getting around to rating it. Pours a shimmering hazy gold colour with a white filmy head. Aroma was a bit minerally but also malty. Its sweet and malty beer, but very enjoyable and at 8 Euros for a 750ml a bargain in somewhere like this. A7 A4 F7 P4 Ov14 3.6

Pours amber with a huge frothy white head. Nice earthy aroma with bananna and spice. Highly carbonated with a nice mouthfeel. There’s a lot going on in the flavor...slighly hoppy with a nice dry finish. No noticeable alcohol. Very drinkable. Enjoyed this one quite a lot.

Babyfood banana, clove, and peach aroma. Cloudy golden, full of floaties, huge head, good lacing. Grassy hop and sweet unroasted malt, good balance. Very coppery palate, however. Easily mistaken for a Belgian pale ale as the alcohol is not noticeable.

Great light golden ale taste. Sweet with a bit of spicy kick to it. Pours a dark orange. this is a straight-up good Belgian. very easy to drink despite the complex flavors swirling around.

Bottle 750ml. Great beer. Aromas of apple, and dough. Sweet flavour, with long-lasting lingering bitterness. Velvety palate, medium-to-full body. Yellow, with a frothy white head.

Rather dry but still smooth beer. Very drinkable and not too heavy on the alcohol.
