11.2 oz single bottle from Biggie Wine & Liquor. Hazy orange appearance with a white head. Spicy hops, Belgian yeast, floral notes, toasted grains, herbs and light citrus zest. Moderately sweet with mild bitterness. Medium body with a nice fluffy feel. Pretty enjoyable and easy to drink for a BSA.

Weinig mooier dan een La Chouffe in zijn eigen glas. Elke slok lekker vol in de mond die goed blijft hangen. Een heerlijk genietbiertje.

33 cl bottle from Wine of Galilee in Tallinn (around € 2.60 I think). Translucent pale golden colour; the nicely retaining and lacing head is big and white. Pleasant warming white bread, fruitiness and yeast, and sightly spicy aroma. Quite a lot of pungent alcoholic and spicy zing coming from the foam later on. Taste is fruity, not overly sweet, white bread softness, quite restrained, with a bit of warming alcohol. Nice hop bitterness and distinct coriander spiciness in mid-taste and finish. Body and carbonation medium, texture soft with a bit of graininess. Overall okay, a good and dangerously quaffable beer, but also uninteresting I think.

Pours hazy orange with a stable, white, thick, cloudy head. Beautiful looking beer. Amazing appearance. Aroma is fruity with some malty kicks in it. Yeasty, spicy as well. Loveable nose. Taste is fruity and sweet with a bready tone. Spicy kicks as well. Clear notes of the fruit (banana, citrus), coriander, pepper and a small dash of alcohol. Aftertaste is warming and sweet and is lived up by the carbonation. Normally I do not like the carbo bite, but here it works out fairly well, resulting in a nice sweetish and fruity aftertaste. The Chouffe is quite ful bodied, has a sticky texture and is quite lively carbonated. This could be a bit too much, but I think this is one of those brews in which that wouldn’t be that much of a problem. It just works out pretty fine. Really a good Belgian, which will never disappoint me.

Very good Wallonian still independent ale. White head, cloudy gold. Typical excellent Belgian aroma. Nice soft carbonation, complex and spicy. Delicious.

Bottle. Pours gold with a thick billowy white head. Aroma is fruity. Taste starts fruity and finishes spicy and bitter. There is a bit of heat at the end from the alcohol. The low rating is due mostly for my dislike for the style. Okay to have just one.
