4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 tdtm82 (666) - Essex, ENGLAND - JAN 30, 2010
An excellent blonde ale served maybe slightly too cold on tap. I feel the coldness affected the yeast a little. The texture is a superb golden ale if a little hazy in appearence. Very relaxing ale ideal for the summer. Citrus twang in the texture and an incredibly well balanced ale. A huge supoorter of their bottling methods. On tap I feel this was poorly conditioned however it is a stunning ale. I want Magic Dave to do it the justice it deserves at the Rake. It genuinely is one of my favourite golden largers and a true classic style. If there is anytime I am going to dress like a gnome it’s because of this brewery.

Bottle. Big time gusher. Pours a large, white, foamy head with a hazy body and some chunky yeast in suspension. Deep golden-light orange body. Sweet wheat-field, summertime malt aroma. Some citrus (orange) and interesting, indistinguishable spice. More orange and bready malt in the flavor with some coriander and light nutmeg. Light alcohol flavor is complementary rather than detracting. Super light and dry palate with lively, effervescent carbonation. Light alcohol on the tongue is within reason for the style. Finish has some fun, lingering spice and citrus/orange rind. Overall a very enjoyable beer and a fun yeast.

UPDATED: JUN 21, 2010 Hazy golden orange pour, thin foamy head.
Aroma of fruits, mostly citrus and orange, yeast, alcohol and some hops. Quite sweet overall. Medium body, with subtle fruits, hops and yeast, the warmer it gets the more alcohol comes out.
Would be a lot better with more body, but still a very nice easy going Belgian ale.
3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 cfrancis (1222) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 22, 2010
Very carbonated, pours a cloudy straw golden yellow with a thin wispy white head. Aroma is stinging citrus and yeast. Taste is bready but develops nicely with hop and subtle fruit and cloves. A real nice beer.

750 ml bottle; gusher upon opening; pours a muddy, burnt orange w/ frothy white head fading quickly to the edges; aromas of bready yeast, lemons, apple juice; very thick and doughy with a mix of spices and light tropical fruits; sweetness certainly reminds me of a tripel with the sugary malts lingering; stale malts and slight zingy twang leading to a sticky sweet, dry finish; not as much pop in the mouth or complexity as when sample out of an ’05 magnum (thanks again scrizzzzz)

750ml bottle. Golden sunset colour with a crackling off white foam cap. Looks strong in the glass with aromas of currants, prunes and other spiced fruit. Strong alcohol flavour that warms all parts of the mouth. Lively and zingy in the mouth, typical of the style.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 rmasa (324) - Vantaa, FINLAND - JAN 13, 2010
Hazy golden color, large white head; aroma of tropical fruits, banana and yeast, slightly sour; medium body, above medium carbonation; flavor of yeast, fruits and spices; finish is sweet with a lot of yeastness that almost manages to hide the alcohol.

...750 ml bottle. Poured a nice golden yellow, with a good white head. On the nose was lots of fruit, ans some nice light floral hop noes. Flavors were crisp and fruity, with some cereal like malt notes. The alcohol was masked well, you’d never know it was 8%. Had some spicy flavors too, and good sediment. It was a good one, and I wish I would have tried it sooner.
