Aroma is grain, yeast, a bit of coriander, and miscellaneous other stuff. Flavor is quite well integrated but spicy, with some zest, coriander, the yeast, a good amount of grainy malt, and hint of alcohol. Quite good! ohemming (22), Columbus, Ohio, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Aug 25, 2007 I love this beer. Probably the only Belgian strong ale I could drink all night. Of course going to La Grande Choufferie (their 25 anniversary party) earlier this month has made me partial to La Chouffe. If your ever near Belgium in August check into La Chouffe’s summer festival, its awsome. So the beer, it is yellow color, fresh spicy aroma. The taste is fantastic, so easy to drink for 8%, there’s corriander in it but not enough to stick out, you just notice a nice spicy flavor. I highly recommend this beer, an awsome brewery that makes awsome beers! DerWeg (756), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

No - the body seems to build a little as I get into the bottle, which is substantial. Spicy and citrusy taste and aroma. Caramel and bit of lemon and pepper. Finishes dry, very nice. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 18, 2007 Pours a pale yellow, then has a hazy orange apperance in the glass, topped with an off-white thick foam, in the proper glassware of course...orange peel and yeast on the nose...refreshing and light...lil’ malts on the finish but overall light...orange+ lemon peel (straight up rind) aromas thegreenrooster (1818), St.louis, Missouri, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 18, 2007 Pour is a golden with a large white head. Aroma is typical Belgiam but that is a good thing. Some yeast and corriander show up. Flavor is again yeast and corriander but there is a spicy pepper that shows up after the swallow. Your typical Belgaim golden ale, tasty and refreshing. If you like Duvel this is about the same thing but a little more expensive. Beershine (2686), Hue, Vietnam
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 17, 2007 A blonde, opaque Belgian strong ale. Cidery nose, and apple notes in first taste. Soft and unobtrusive mouthfeel, which s typical for this style. Flavor becomes more alcoholic and strong at the finish, and so does the aroma. The alcohol is detected in the background but mellows as you sip it. A good standard. beachbum25 (783), Powellville, Maryland, USA
