DerWeg (748), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 24, 2007 Updated: Jul 27, 2009Kind of light and zingy for a Belgian Strong. No - the body seems to build a little as I get into the bottle, which is substantial. Spicy and citrusy taste and aroma. Caramel and bit of lemon and pepper. Finishes dry, very nice. Funknmilla (577), Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 18, 2007 Pours a pale yellow, then has a hazy orange apperance in the glass, topped with an off-white thick foam, in the proper glassware of course...orange peel and yeast on the nose...refreshing and light...lil’ malts on the finish but overall light...orange+ lemon peel (straight up rind) aromas thegreenrooster (1811), St.louis, Missouri, USA Aug 18, 2007 Pour is a golden with a large white head. Aroma is typical Belgiam but that is a good thing. Some yeast and corriander show up. Flavor is again yeast and corriander but there is a spicy pepper that shows up after the swallow. Your typical Belgaim golden ale, tasty and refreshing. If you like Duvel this is about the same thing but a little more expensive. Beershine (2678), Hue, Vietnam Aug 17, 2007 A blonde, opaque Belgian strong ale. Cidery nose, and apple notes in first taste. Soft and unobtrusive mouthfeel, which s typical for this style. Flavor becomes more alcoholic and strong at the finish, and so does the aroma. The alcohol is detected in the background but mellows as you sip it. A good standard. beachbum25 (778), Powellville, Maryland, USA Aug 15, 2007 750 Ml Bottle-Cloudy orange/yellow color w/a large white head. Classic Belgian aroma. Sweet flavor of apricots, citrus, yeast, cane sugar, wheat, & spice. Long fullfilling flavor w/a somewhat dry finish. Good solid easy drinking Belgian. Alcohol is well hidden. SynergyXJ (506), Blacksburg, Virginia, USA Aug 14, 2007 Draught Yellow pour with great head. Aroma of yeast, wheat, spice. Flavor follows with less on the yeast. Smooth and refreshing. Good Belgian. BartC (398), Lichtaart, Belgium Aug 14, 2007 On tap at St-Pieter; Turnhout. Yellow to orange colored beer. Nice white head. Spicy aroma from the coriander. The flavor is more fruity (oranges) but also coriander is present. Also hop bitterness is noticeable. All very well balanced. scanovajr (361), Stanford, California, USA Aug 12, 2007 On tap @ Café Belgique, Amsterdam. An orange beer with a nice beige head. Aroma is sweet, malty and fruity. Taste is also sweet and malty. Notes of caramel. Spicy and notes of alcohol. Vey well balanced. Very good beer.
