750 ml bottle purchased at Monaghans. Poured like a classic Belgian with a huge fizzy head, a little more fizzy then I was expecting, with a cloudy orangey/yellow body. Aroma was loads of yeast with a spicy peppery character. Flavor was yeast, alcohol and had an aftertaste of peanuts (never had that in a beer before). Crisp dry mouthfeel but I was expecting more from this one and was slightly disappointed.

Draught @ Eulogy Tavern: Mine poured a hazy, golden color with almost no head and minimal lacing. Definitely some spice to the aroma. There is also notes of fruit and sweet malts. The taste is good. It is slightly beady and yeasty, with hints of fruits, as well as some coriander. Nice.

Bottle. Grassy near-Saaz aroma with an angular malt rising up. Murky golden body with sediment floating evenly in suspension, creamy rocky white head that clambers up the side of the glass. Sweet taste with a little alcohol seeping through, floral and spicy with coriander, orange peel, cinnamon, and estery fruit. Classy, subtle spice really is the story here. Light hops funking out the back end. Smooth, full body, dries out and ends like a lemony wit. Balanced and delicious! All three of the Achouffe beers I’ve had have been excellent; this is perhaps the best for everyday drinking.

Pale golden-yellow in color with a small, rocky white head. There is a very nice lemony-peach aroma with hints of nutmeg and a mild maltiness. This is one of the best beers I’ve had as far as being refreshing, it is so light yet flavorful. Fizzy, muted fruit taste that is perfectly balanced. I could drink this all night if it wasn’t so carbonated. Good brew.

Bottle and tap. Large white fluffy head, dark yellowish orange pour. Aroma is of strong spice (ginger?) and citrus. Flavor is strong citrus, spicy and almost peppery. Almost resembles a barleywine.

the gnome is cute and all, but it said that this is a tripel on the bottle, and what i got was basically a blonde... sweet and not very complex, highly overrated compared to the trapists

NorCal tasting Jul 07 - The beer pours out a touch hazy golden color with a huge fluffy white head with smally, compact bubbles. Aroma that first hit me was orangy spices with a helping dose of ginger and honey. Very nice nose. The beer has a fantastic flavor of well with an interesting subtle barnyardyness to it, fruity with a dried apricot flavor, malty sweet, peppery with a fantastic lingering finish.
