2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 DKthe13 (54) - NETHERLANDS - OCT 5, 2009
A belgian blond with spices in the nose, taste and in the after taste. Not a pure blond, and with all that sugar added, not my kind of beer. Good beer to start learning to drink special beers.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 ChainGangGuy (3682) - Canton, Georgia, USA - OCT 2, 2009
11.2 ounce bottle - $4.29 at Hop City in Atlanta, Georgia. Best Before End 2011.
Appearance: Pours out a lightly hazy, golden-hued body with a wispy, white head.
Smell: Aroma of honey-flavored candy with supplementary notes of herbaceous coriander, sugar-sweetened lemon juice, Granny Smith apples spritzed with alcohol, and some soft pastoral florals.
Taste: Sweet, honeyish malt character attacked with a blitz of sweet fruitiness -- lemon, green apple, and even an indistinct tropical fruit character cross the tongue. Meager touch of coriander. Faint floral character from the hops as well as a mild bitterness. Additional spiciness imparted by the Belgian yeast. Minor hint of alcohol, though very well-integrated considering the purported 8%. Finishes dry with lasting hints of fruit and spice.
Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium-plus carbonation.
Drinkability: Easily likable, and easily drinkable (at least in the 11.2 ounce format), it’s a tasty, well-fortified Belgian blonde.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Gypsy19 (728) - California, USA - SEP 28, 2009
Pours a light peach color with a large white head. Aroma is yeasty, bready, with light fruits, cream, and spices. Flavor is again spicy with light fruit and alcohol. The alcohol is pretty apparent on the tongue for only 8%, but not in a bad way necessarily. Medium viscosity, average mouthfeel. Overall, good to very good.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Ljunkan (521) - Drammen, NORWAY - SEP 27, 2009
Golden orange color with a nice white head. Aroma is spicy with some grass/hay hops, citrus fruits, banana, and some light vegetables (though not in a disturbing way...). Flavour is spicy and mildy acidic with citrus fruits, banana, and grassy hops. Body is medium with a nice carbonation. Good beer, but not fantastic.
