3.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Smurf2055 (146) - Seattle, Washington, USA - DEC 1, 2011
Poured from a bottle into my Duvel Tulip. I poured a bit too fast, as there’s sediment galore.
Appears dark orange and with a lot of sediment, as previously stated. I thought it was pretty well carbonated on the pour too.
Smells a bit like oranges and cream. Yeasty. From the smell, I feel like it will have a bit of a bite to it. Spicy. Maybe a hint of lavender. Very floral.
I was surprised at how mild it actually was. A lot of citrus working in there. A very nice spice bite as you swallow. Belgium yeast.
Mouthfeel was tingly and not very viscous at all.
Overall, not a bad beer. It’s certainly something I’ll see again down the road, but nothing that knocked my socks off.

Bottle. Several, several times over the course of my legal (and not so legal) drinking age. Just decided to rate it. Nice clear gold pour with lots of frothy white head, heavy lacing. Aroma dominated by peaches, rosemary and belgian yeast, some grain but mostly soft sweet fruit aromas. Taste is nice and yeasty, lots of fruity notes, more peaches and pears, light herbal finish, some light hops on the finish as well. Palate is well carbed, classic belgian fluffiness, decently dry finish. Very good beer, and excellent value too (just like the good ol’ days)

Bottle. One year in the cellar. Hazy, pale golden colour. Thick, one inch white pillow for a head. Very nice aroma: bready malt with grain, subtle hops behind, then Belgian yeasts. Medium bodied and moderately carbonated. Yeast in the flavour. Plenty of malt. Mild hints of honey, wildflower then more yeast and some banana. Short, fairly sweet finish.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 thirstyrabbit (478) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - NOV 22, 2011
750ml bottle. Cloudy amber body. Big pillowy head. Sweet yeasty aroma. Mellow taste with a hint of tangerine and plenty of yeast. The taste is full but not exceedingly complex. Its lively carbonation and yeast funkiness cover the whole palate so it comes together nicely, but at the same time it overshadows some of the other elements. A nice Belgian ale to pair with food, but possibly not as fulfilling on its own.

75cl bottle. Pours a hazy orange with a white, decent head. Nose : Alcohol, peach, caramel malts. Little cherry aromas. Some spices. Sip : Oily body with a little carbonation. Little sweet, with a sour cherry/peach notes. Spicy : clove. Metallic after taste. Since this beer is a easy find in Brussels, I usually buy it when feeling like a strong pale ale.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 troyc (2014) - Oklahoma, USA - NOV 16, 2011
[Bottle] Pours a golden amber color with floating yeast and a ton of white head on top. Nose is of yeast, citrus zest, green apple and grainy malts. Some bread, zesty hops, floral notes, sweet toffee, Belgian esters and nutmeg come out in the taste. Very nicely balanced. Lively carbonation. A really nice example of the style.

Had a 750Ml bottle. Pored into trappist glass. one finger head on both pours 1st noe thicker. 1st glass I smelt & tasted warmth & corriander(that what it’s spiced with)tasted a little sweet. 2nd glass some sip’s seemed sweater. Of all yeasty beers I had this one I could see it in chuncks in 2nd glass. Did not taste the spice n warmth 2nd time. taste better warme then colder bt I didn’t like this one alot/much & tated diff from other blond beer’s I have had.
