FCBF 09 poured from bottle at Ommegang booth (one of the best stops). Is this made with wheat? Just wondering because of the banana character detected. Honeyish taste, very delicate and tasty. Great stuff.

The aroma is a citrusy champagne aroma, orange zest hops. Outstanding fruity spice aroma. Belgian spice ale, bubblegum. Ground pepper and light banana. No head in the appearance. Uber-cloudy, golden yellow. Specks of yeast sediment. Glowing color. The flavor is spicy orange peel and fresh pepper. Cloves, light banana and prickly, crystalline orange. Bubblegum. No balance of bitterness, but a good flavor. Prickly and fizzy feel like champagne. The sediment is most certainly present. Citrusy and spicy, prickly and damned good, although not balanced.

Pours hazy orange with lots of floaties and a white head that sticks around for quite awhile. The aroma is orange, esters, champagne, muscat grapes, and a touch of malt. The flavor is relatively laid back for the style and strength and is on the sweet side with some malt and a metallic hint. The beer goes down pretty well despite high carbonation.

Surprised I hadn’t rated this, but now I expect to have it all the time, because my girlfriend enjoys ordering it so much now that I expect it will happen again. Pours orangey with a bright white ring. Nose is honeyied and sweet. Taste is sweet ok.

Bottle and Tap. Cloudy golden color with a spicy strong aroma. Very smooth flavor with no feeling that it is 8%. One of my favorite Belgian Beers.

Hazy deep orange body. Medium size white head with good lacing. Aroma of oat, wheat and oranges. Nice flavor with a good bitter finish.

Poured cloudy gold with a bright white effervescent head that settled to a nice film and left ok lacing. Sweet, spicy, malt aromas with bananas and bread dough featured and pepper and hops in the background. Light citrus fruit flavors with cloves, pepper, yeast and sugar also playing roles. Lively carbonation that dances on the tongue, slight warming sensation from teh alcohol, and a pleasant light fruit sweetness in the aftertaste.

Purchased this at some random side shop in Rome, Italy for 6 euro. Pours a clear dark gold with lots of carbonation and froathy bubbly white head. Aroma rather plain, mostly doughy and banana. Flavor very light, a bit watery, dough and banana with definite alcohol warmth. Some dryness in the finish. Good, but not great.
