radagast83 (1273), Fairfax, Virginia, USA Jun 9, 2007 Draft. Great Belgian. Cloudy yellow color with a golden hue. Hoppy and fruity aromas. Flavor is sweet (not too sweet) and fruity. The beer is very smooth and quite easy to drink (even at 8%)! RobBestwick (555), Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England Jun 5, 2007 From a bottle. Fruity and hoppyaroma, strawberry and raspberry like. Pours in a cloudy yellow/gold colour with a good head. The taste is very spicey and hoppy with some subtle fruity notes. Full bodied with a warming bitter finish. Very enjoyable. LinusStick (1831), Moon Twp, suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 2, 2007 This is one of the easiest drinking Belgian beers I have ever had. Aroma of fruit and spice. Pour was a heavy gold with a nice 2 finger head. There is a ton of sediment in this beer which is an A plus in my book. Nice crisp mouthfeel with lots of carbonation and fruity undertones. StueyD (590), King’s Lynn, Norfolk, Norfolk, England Jun 2, 2007 Updated: Jun 4, 2007A light golden yellow coloured beer with a thick and frothy white head. Potent spicy nose, peppery with cloves and a wheat beer-like tropical fruit aroma. Fizzy, but full mouthfeel. The taste is dry, a huge clove and pepper spice flavour matched by a fruity mix of orange, grapefruit, banana and mango. The finish is dry, spicy and fruity. (On Tap - The Fat Cat, Norwich, Norfolk). aubreya (676), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Jun 2, 2007 The color was golden with orange hues. There was a lot of visible carbonation. It was a very active beer. The head was foamy, creamy, and off-white. The aroma was slightly tart, yeasty, and dry hops. The flavor was spice and dry hops. The palate was medium-bodied and nicely carbonated. The finish was dry. emacgee (1859), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Jun 2, 2007 Poured a substantial golden brew that was not translucent. The head was medium, white, creamy, and laced. The aroma had that musty sourness to it, sweetness, spice, and yeast. The flavor was spicy, sour, dry, and a bit sour. A’Chouffe seems to like dry hopping their brews as I’ve noticed with the three I’ve had. The palate is lightly carbonated and imparts a good mouthfeel. An enjoyable belgian. joe1510 (501), Illinois, USA May 26, 2007 750ml. Bottle

La Chouffe poured a beautiful glowing golden into it’s own tulip. A big dense 2+ finger white head formed on the pour and settled to a 1+finger meringue like cap. Big sticky lacing gets left behind after each sip. Great looking beer.
The first thing pulled out in the aroma is clean semi-sweet pale malts. Coriander soon follows along with a faint spicy yeast. Grassy hops come along on the backend. Surprisingly clean malt aroma is a nice surprise. Each swirl makes the nose on this beer come to life.
The flavor starts off with those clean pale (bottle states Pilsner) malts. Again much like the aroma the coriander shows up mid palate and is quickly joined by a sprinkling of spicy yeast. Juicy peaches and pear mingle around in there as well. The clean maltiness shines throughout. The Saaz give a very pleasant grassy bitterness on the swallow. Very well put together beer.
Medium to light bodied with lively carbonation. The carbonation prickles the tongue and then the hops give it a swift kick. The body lightens throughout the swallow.
This is a super easy beer to put away. I find myself having to slow down. If you’re not careful the bottle will be gone in the blink of an eye.
I’m not always a big fan of spiced ales but D’Achouffe hit the nail on the head with this one. A truly enjoyable Belgian Golden with clean flavors.
5/13/07 mlist55 (210), media, Pennsylvania, USA May 24, 2007 A swirling fury of carbonation hides beneath a deep, dense head. Yellowish-tan in colour, the body is soft, hoppy, and spicy (coriander). The finish is mellow with the spicy character of Hallertau hops
