I had this at Cafe Hollander in Milwaukee, served in Achouffe glassware. I thought it was very good, but definitely inferior to Duvel. Appearance was rather cidery. It has yellow and slightly hazy, with a lot of head (but not the float-a-nickel-on-it head that Duvel has). Aroma was slightly skunky, and was also very appley. Taste was a mix of apples and pears, with a healthy yeasty sweetness, and quite good. Mouthfeel was good, but a bit harsh for the style. Not sure I would have this again; it is good, but there are definitely better choices out there.

[Sampled at Copenhagen beerdays in 2004.] Creamy and foamy nice head with dark brownish look. Beautiful aroma with hints of malt, licorice and all the way a broadsiding appeal to the masses. Flavor is medium to mediumhigh bitterness for the style and full of flavors such as coriander, cinnamon, (not a christmasbeer, but not so far from) maltiness, some weak okay alcoholfeel with a good finish. Looking forward to visit the brewery in august 2007 to the Claude Criquellion Bikerun.

Small creamy head, tons of gasses, golden copper. Smells of flowers, lemons, honey and cola. Creamy soft, with sweet malt and a nice dry aftertaste. Tastes like a saison to me.

Pours slightly hazy golden color with a big rocky/foamy head. Strong spicy, fruity aroma with nice malty/bready yeast notes and some candy sugar. Spicy-sweet flavor with lots of sweet doughy yeast. Palate is medium, spicy, and full of yeast.

25.4 bottle. Had on draft @ coles buffalo, ny before. Great looking brew with golden color & huge head that goes nowhere. Spicy taste that reminded me of a beer with cigarettes in it ala Caddyshack. I couldn’t get this out of my mind for 25.4oz. Hopefully I had a dirty glass.

Pours a golden amber with a big head tha dissipates fairly quickly. Initially the aroma was a bit skunky due to the green bottle, but after a few seconds the skunk aroma was replaced with citrus and floral scents. Flavor is more bready / yeasty than the aroma with citrus and sweet malt flavors. Finish is yeasty and tasty. This is my kind of beer.

Bottle. Clear amber with a huge head. Good lacing. Aroma of sweet malts, spices and belgian yeast. Kind of reminds me of pears with pepper. Medium bodied. Lively carbonation. Moderately bitter finish.
