La Chouffe

An orange beer with a fantastic light orange head. The aroma is fantastic: it is maltsweet with notes of alcohol, fruit, oranges, corriander, and cinnamon - a wonderful nose. The flavor too is fantastic - it starts with a nice maltsweetness containing notes of oranges, fruit, corriander, cinnamon, and alcohol. In the end, the alcohol sting your tongue, before it leveaves you with a sweetness that lingers on your tongue and lips. It has a very nice palate. This is a great beer.

(Bottle 75 cl) Hazy golden with a nice frothy head. Fresher, finer - almost fruity - than the McChouffe. Almost perfumy notes which may sound cloying, but nothing could be further from the truth. Some citrusy notes to keep things dry. And again only a discreet bitternes, yet enough for balance. 311296

Pale brown , lightly hazy, small head. Rich on caramel with a touch of hops. Medium bodied with fairly soft mouthfeel. Less sweet than many other Belgians. Well balanced, flavourful and unintimidating.

75 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden yellow with a huge white head slowly collapsing. Orange peel and coriander spiced fresh aroma with a whiff of spices. Flavour is soft caramel sweet malty, mildly yeast spiced (very classic Belgian) and with a clear tone of coriander.

Bottle 750ml. Light orange with a white head, unclear. Aroma moderate/heavy malty, apple, citrus/orange, light hoppy. Flavor moderate/heavy sweet, light bitter. Light/medium body, oily, soft carbonated. You can fell the strength.

Bottled. Hazy yellow colour, creamy thick white mediumsized head. Aroma is fruity and yeasty with a weak sting of alcohol. Flavour is a bit barnyardish, fruity and yeasty. Some banana and yeast in aftertaste. Wellbalanced and pleasant.

Draught. Fruity aroma. Fruity yeasty tea flavour. Quite malty with a nice level of alcohol. Very nice and well-balanced.

Bottle. Cloudy amber coloured with a creamy white head. Aroma of fruits with notes of yeast and spices. Flavour of fruits, yeast and spices with flowery notes. Not very exciting.
