Golden, pretty beer with an attractive, shiny white head. Spicy, uplifting hop flavour. Progressive flavour with real complexity. Really enjoyed this beer, particularly for the depth of flavour that I had forgotten was possible (currently living in Barcelona). Sigmund (2309), Hafrsfjord, Norway

ABV was 8%. I presume this is the same beer? Hazy golden colour, low head. Moderately spicy / peppery aroma. Moderately spicy flavour, too sweet. alexanderj (2294), Chino Hills, California, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 6, 2006 Bottle. Poured a clear, very light amber. Almost gold. Very large fluffy white head. Smells like a Unibrau beer. Slowly dissipating. Aroma of fruit, yeast and spice. Flavor was of yeast, fruit and some spices. Didn’t catch much hops. Was expecting better Walt (2289), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 19, 2005 Pour is dark golden orange with a big at first then fading to a sticky tan film type head...smell is sort of like pot?...skunky and stinky...interesting but not good in beer...taste is rather decent, but it is hard to get past the aroma...taste is sweet and citrus with light notes of spice...corriander and pepper...finish is a little sticky... | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 5, 2006 Updated: Nov 18, 2006Dark orange in color, slight haze, not too much carbonation. Slight fruit flavor to it (oranges/apples/pear?), semi-sweet maltiness, but I didn’t get too much spice out of it. Full body (slightly heavier on the palate than expected) and pretty smooth. This beer is well blended and the alcohol is also well hidden. Over all very good, but I didn’t find anything overly special about this one. I will have to pick it up in a bottle and try it again sometime. Maybe it isn’t as good on draught.
Draught, $6.25 at the Winking Lizard Tavern (Crosswoods). Rating: 5 4 7 3 14 = 3.3
UPDATE: Sampled again on 10/17/2006 at River’s Bend -- Thanks Matt! -- Poured from a bottle. Clear golded orange color with a fluffy white head. Generous amount of carbonation. Aroma and flavor are sweet, fruity, with a little hint of yeast. Slighly dry finish. The alcohol is well hidden. Much better than my first encounter. Mads Langtved (2246), Copenhagen K, Denmark

Nice clean aroma with pepper, clove, coriander, honeyish malt, orange and plenty of fruity esters. Coriander, clove, pepper, herbal hops and fairly firm bitterness in the flavor. Spicy and herbal-bitter finish. Tasty and clean!
