Pours a pale, hazy yellow with small head and good lacing. Musty aroma with some juicy fruit and maybe some lime. Taste follows the aroma with a barnyard character from the yeast and a cheesy flavor. Finishes semi dry with medium mouthfeel. Nice golden ale with those farmhouse qualities. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Cerveza de color rubia no filtrada y buena espuma de color blanca. Aroma a cilantro, malta, frutas y levadura. Sabor a lúpulo, cilantro, un poco afrutado, dulce con un final largo y redondo, una strong ale belga excelente, cerveza fantástica.

750ml bottle shared with some friends @ The National - Vevey. Poured in an ordinary glass. Complex beer. Very spicy. A: Beautiful orange cloudy color with a reasonable and bubbled white head. Low retention and many lacings left S: Smell is a must. Complex. Very spicy and fruity. Perfume of hops and the traditional Belgian yeasts T: Complex as the nose. Malts, spices (pepper, clove, coriander), fruits, wood, hints of honey, hops and yeasts M: Medium to full body. Good carbonation. No alcohol sensation despite the reasonable ABV D: Good. A beer to be enjoyed [ BA Review @ 10/29/2010 ]

Dourada e turva, apresentou boa formação de espuma. Aroma frutado, sugestão de abacaxi, damasco e pêssego. O floral do lúpulo também é percebido. O paladar reproduz o aroma, um agradável dulçor é percebido e o malte ajuda a equilibrar o conjunto. Corpo médio com final longo, frutado e amargo.

UPDATED: OCT 11, 2014 One of the most popular Wallonian beers, the "bière blonde d’Ardennes" and the symbol of this brewery’s success story, tasted from tap, 75 cl bottle, the "Big Chouffe" version and 33 cl bottle (the latter having been introduced by Moortgat when they took over). Poured in its own tulip glass with the iconic leprechaun (the brewery’s mascotte) indicating the front side, this classic Belgian ’edelbier’ displays a moussy, nicely lacing, medium thick, snow white head with sufficient (though not complete) retention and a beautifully golden, slightly hazy colour. Adding the deposit of the 75 cl bottle I’m describing here leads to a murky ochre blond colour with brownish flakes of dead yeast floating around. The aroma reveals apricot, lemon peel, Sauvignon Blanc, biscuit, soap, honey, freshly cut apples, vanilla, butterscotch, subtle hints of almond, banana and grass and a fortunately only very vague echo of DMS (cooked cauliflower). In the mouth, a restrained fruitiness of apple and apricot opens, subtle citrus freshness briefly kicks in, with soft carbonation and a velvety, smooth mouthfeel; then a bready and doughy malt sweetness takes over, adorned with slight hints of spicy yeastiness, taking the whole to a delicately hopped, grassy, herbally bitterish, medium long, dry finish in which some ’old jenever’-like alcohol warms the throat without becoming obnoxious or wry. An elegant Belgian strong blond, with a remarkably high drinkability. I had my doubts at first but quickly became convinced that this beer is in good hands at Moortgat, but I cannot help feeling it lost some of its subtle but noticeable "Wallonian saison-like wildness" since then and became more polished. Still, well balanced and enjoyable. As in the old days when Achouffe was still independent, I keep recommending tasting this fresh and from tap, as it does not seem to age very well.

750ml bottle. Looks great in the glass: golden hue, cloudy with floculant sediment, very lively effervescence in the glass, large white foamy fully lasting head with a crazy amount of lacing. Aromas are delightful especially the banana and spice, citrus orange, bubblegum, white bread yeast, barnyard and cheese, lollies. Moderate to moderate heavy sweet, with a light bitterness to balance it out. Lightly creamy palate, soft carbonation, long mildly dry finish with some alcohol stripping tongue numbness, some nice aniseed in the aftertaste. Overall a really nice beer. Paired well with mussels, blue cheese and fresh smoked trout.

Spicy yeasty aroma and cloudy light gold color. The spice comes out in the flavor with a well developed complex palate.

Bottle. Hazy golden colour with a large white head. Aroma is full malt, lightly fruity with citrus and apricot. Flavour is malt, yeast, fruity, spicy. Very dry palate. A long, bitter, hoppy finish that works well with the sweetness of the malt. Very nice.

This beer I bought at a supermarket in Hong Kong. This beer pours a golden hazy color and produces a big head. Just be sure to pour it easy. All in all this beer is pretty damn tasty for what it is. I’ve had some Belguim ales that weren’t as tasty, maybe they are ran by InBev. This beer is for sure worth picking up and giving it a try.

Bardzo wyraziste i treściwe pozostawiające słodowo cytrusowy posmak. Godne polecenia.
