Troebel bier met een stevige kraag.Geur van hooi, hop, kaas echt belgisch zou ik haast zeggen. Volle licht zoet smaak.

Yellow to orange colour with lots of beige head. Aromas of Belgian yeast, spices and citrus fruits. Sweet and sour taste with a nice bitter finish.

Ondanks die lullige kabouter op het etiket is dit een heel goed bier De gist maakt het bier zeer herkenbaar net als het bier van brouwerij het IJ trouwens. Een klassieker !

Lovely beer! It used to be even better in my opinion-prior to the take over by moortgat- but still is one of my favorite readily available beer here in Belgium. The head is slightly orange, the aroma is quite malty and shows signs of corriander. The taste is malty with hints of flowers and a lovely yiesty aftertaste, very refreshing. Oh, and two more tips : First, don’t buy it in the 33cl bottle, the 75cl bottles are much better and second; beware of the gnome! If you drink enough it’ll sneek up on you and hit you right on the head with a wooden hammer. No headaches however ;-)

Blonde orangée légèrement trouble, fine pétillance, mousse persistante. Agréablement huileuse avec petite astringence sur la fin. Amertume moyenne et houblonnée, légèrement fruitée, notes d’épices et de caramel.

Sparkling Golden color topped with a thick foamy white head. Fresh, candyish malt and fruit - apples, spice, yeast in the aroma. Smooth body, good alcohol balance by a fine candyish malt backbone. Long palate where the hops come out to play, nicely bitter.

Aroma zesty, orange, hoppy grassy. Tempting. Huge yellowish stable head. Lightly hazy golden colour. Taste is more on the sweet side. Starts balanced with medium fresh hoppiness and light zesty, prominent spiciness. Towards finish it gets heavily sweet a d malty with lingering zesty sting. Nice Belgian classic.

(bottle, 75cl) Hazy, golden colour with a big and cream-coloured foamy head. Yeast-spicy and mildly bready and grainy (cara-)malty aroma with present notes of herbal hops and hints of stone fruits (apricots). Moderately sweet and slightly bitter flavour, medium to full bodied with a well-carbonated mouthfeel. Mildly caramelly malt character with bearable spicy notes, herbal hops and a rather subtle fruity touch; sweet-bitter and a bit alcoholic finish with a malty and subtle fruity aftertaste. Decent quality brew. 26.III.13
