Slightly hazy gold color with a massive bright white head, a little creamy in texture. The nose is fruity and sweet, with a lemon-lime crispness. Finish is biting in its acidity, the hops perfect in their spiciness, quite dry and long lasting aftertaste. Goes well with Shanghai savoury dumplings.

Bottle 750ml. Nice slightly hazy orange with big beige head. Yeasty aroma, orange, citrus, alcoholic, buttery, bready, some alcohol notes. Flavor of orange, citrus peels, yeasty, a bit sour, quite alcoholic. Lively carbonation. Medium body. Bitter-sour aftertaste.

Pours a mostly clear gold with a white head and lacing. It has a rich aroma of biscuit, malt, coriander, and other spices. The flavor is light, whit malt and spices up front and a slightly sweet finish over a light body.

Bottle shared. Had this many time since the late 80’s, but never in my RB life (= since Duvel took over). Dark golden/light amber color, slightly hazy. Big white head, uneven, good retention & lacing. Aroma’s: coriander, sweet. Retronasal it’s sweet malts, herbs (mostly coriander). Flavor is moderate sweet, herbal, light bitterness. Medium bodied. Flavors linger, but not much news in the finish. I think it lost some of its character, but still decent.

Excellent beer. In my experience its considerably better on tap but also great in a bottle. Great session beer. Slightly spicy and citric. Rich, smooth and creamy mouthfeel. I have a lot of love for The Gnome.

The first time I had this beer, I had no idea that it was 8% and proceeded to put back four of them in a relatively short amount of time. I learned my lesson, but this spicy, lemony little beer is exceptionally refreshing.

330 ml, flaske, 8,0 % ABV, købt i Den Belgiske Ølbutik i Vanløse, 13. september 2014.
