3.6 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 hopscotch (7542) - Vero Beach, USA - NOV 18, 2002
This beer rocks.
The aroma is lightly malty and highly yeasty(almost soapy). Coriander and other spices... cinnomon, nutmeg. Dried fuzzy fruits and dark fruits in the nose as well.
This sparkling clear golden ale has large yeast particles thinly distributed. Large, frothy, rocky white head with excellent lacing. Mostly but not entiredly diminishing.
The flavor is heavily malty. Warm, clean alcohol up front. Well-balanced. Lightly bitter on the backside. The high ABV is well hidden, but so is any real flavor... fairly bland. I did’t pick up any sweetness or candylike flavors in my bottle. Lively carbonation. Creamy mouthfeel. Short dry, crisp finish. Good beer overall, but fairly weak for an imported Belgian ale. Of course, this was the last beer I tasted on an evening that included Westy 8 and Westy 12, so maybe I was a bit spoiled by the time I got to this one. I may rate this one again in the future.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Jonb5 (124) - USA - MAY 30, 2012
330 ml Bottle, pale golden colour, slight haze which increased, medium thin textured head, which was well retained. Aroma was fennel, yeast and clove. Tasted sour fruits, was fairly bitter, hint of booze at the end but it was generally well hidden. Decent carbonation, medium body, coarse. Overall good, but not complex enough to be anything more.
3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 sulawang (224) - British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 24, 2012
pour clear dark amber, almost no head, micro CO2. Minor malts on the nose. 7/10-level sweetness, alcoholic backdrop, sweet malts, honey, chamomile, creamy mouthfeel, tingly CO2, clean finish with only traces of bitterness. Medium complexity, medium depth, great transitions, good carry, great drinkability. Like the Houblon but without the long lingering bitter finish.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 BobEvers (117) - NETHERLANDS - MAY 21, 2012
fles 33cl
kleur: goudgeel, mooie witte schuimkraag
geur: fris, hop, koriander
smaak: zoet, fris, kruidig en bitter (vooral in de nasmaak). Prikkelend oa door de hoeveelheid koolzuur.
Lekker!

750ml bottle. A murky yellow body with a good head, lots of carbonation (I remember how I spilled my first bottle). Yeasty aroma, spicy, orange peel, hops, apricot. Taste is refreshing, yeast, spices, orange, some herbal nuances, warming sensation, but almost no alcohol feeling. Solid.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 JEK69 (137) - FRANCE - MAY 20, 2012
I drunk this popular BSA hundred times but never rated it.
This pours blond, lightly hazy with a massive foam head.
Very smooth and soft, well balanced, easy to drink.
Yeasty, spicy, cereals and coriander: like Karmeliet, a bit heavier and less complex, very light bitterness.
Great beer for dwarfs !

330 ml bottle. Pours hazy yellow to orange colour with a large white foamy head. Aroma of yeast, spices and sweet malt as undertone. Floral, fruity and spicy taste. Alcohol is not coming through very much in the taste. Complex flavour has at least banana, grain and honey. Nicely bitter. Lively carbonation, medium to thick bodied. Nice long, dry and fruity finish. An ecxelent and well balanced beer.
