COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
La Choulette Ambrée is the classic amber version of a French bières de gardes. It has a wonderfully spicy aroma and is fullflavored, but effervescent and refreshing.

75 cl bottle; Dark copper with white head that collapses fairly fast. Nose is sweet malt and a hint of chewinggum. Flavor is sweet and spicy with a strange dusty taste... maybe this beer has been mistreated by the shop?? Mouthfeel is heavily carbonated and allright for style.

Copper brown color, medium off white head. Aroma of slightly roasted malt, caramel, apple. In comparison to your standard biere de garde, much sweeter, toasted malt, caramel, alcohol is nearly indetectable. Same mineral water base and wine feel as others in the style, but a much less dry finish. A flavorful and fun beer.

Nutty brown with a great sweet malt and a touch of vanilla on top of the caramels. A dry finish... Much better than the Blonde.

This bottled brew corked, caged and marked best before 2004 poured a very large sized head of foamy fine to medium sized mostly lasting light brown colored bubbles that left behind a fair lacing. The body contained average carbonation, was transparent and copper brown in color. Its aroma contained notes of nice but mild malty caramel . Its mouth feel is initially tingly slightly thick smooth full bodied with a palate and a aftertaste. Its flavor contained wonderful cacophony of flavors that included notes of toffee vinuous malty caramel hoppy roasted notes and was very tasty. An excellent beer that I would buy again.

Bottle. Large ivory head with fne-medium sized bubbles that mostly diminished. Fast rising carbonation and a dark orange hue. Malty, fruity, spicy and alcohol aroma. Flavor was delicious-malty and alcohol. Palate was tingly and some burning sensation. Medium bodied beer with sparse lacing. Worth a try.

nice amber color with orange golden shine and good airy head. Fine beer with nice aroma’s of fennel and soft spices. Beer with good texture and round mouthfeeling. In the taste there are some hints of malts, honey, herbs and star-anise. It ends with a warm and full mouthfeeling.

Bottle pours a golden amber with the classic Biere de Garde sparse bubbles and nice head. The aroma is mildly perfumed and hop like. The flavor is more malt and hops than I anticipated. The palate is more like a Bock than the style. Overall, this is weird one. I actually like it though.

(on bottle) I´ve been so lucky to have have tastet some really good ones these past days and this one is a nice finish. Actually the very best bier de garde (ambrée) I´ve had. For starters it´s a bit lashy and just sour. But give it the right temperature and it´s a treat. Apple/malty sent, turns into caramel and balsamic. Wonderfull amber color. A bit winourous acids, sweetness and honey. Gives a great warmth for a long time. Meditation bier.

Fruity nose, light acidity, hops, malty and rich. A clean aroma, sweet and pleasant with a bit of yeast. Dark orange-amber clear with off-white, almost tan foamy lacing head. Medium-heavy body with solid carbonation, warming effect after. Starts malty and sweet, with musky fruit, yeast and alcohol. Finish is even sweeter, vaporous and deep, close to being velvety in texture. Strong nutty sweet finish. A little dryness comes in to finish, while leaving a sweet tannic residue, like after eating an exceptionally sweet pear or grape.

Bottled: Amber coloured. Beige huge head. Malts, alcahol and some light cocoa notes in the aroma. Liquorice, malts and chocolate in the flavour. Some alcahol but othervise vague aftertaste.
