Aroma has sweet biscuity malts and some nice light fruit. My first thought on tasting this was that this beers average score is somewhat of a travesty, it’s the danger of statistics I suppose.
Excellent biere de garde; spicey, malty and fruity with some caramel and fresh yeast. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, with some warming alcohol in the finish. Very good.

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Oct 21, 2005 Very deep gold color. White long lasting head. Mild yeast and sour malt aroma with floral undertones. Mild carbonation with a fairly high level of sweetness for a blonde. Flavor is quite boring. For me it’s a nondescriptive mash of flavors with no strong notes or subtle tones. Cheers! presario (2956), Calgary, Alberta, Canada

Caramel flavours. Sweetness without being overbearing. Enjoyable and tasty. Cable (286), SE, Oklahoma, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Oct 3, 2005 Sampled from magnum bottle. Pours a clear gold with a nice white head and remarkable lacing. Aroma has notes of sweet pears and leather. Flavor is spicy and very floral, almost like a rose water, with juniper. There is a tartness that may have been imparted by wild yeast. Medium-bodied and well-carbonated. Exceptional farmhouse saison. Welcome this is a farmhouse - Phish. asheft (1391), Marburg, Germany

Clearish orange with chunks of yeasty sediment and a lasting white cover. Aroma is, interestingly enough, like a nobley hops lager mixed with some spicy malt character. Yet, when you taste this beer, it has that spicy melanoidin malt flavour which dominates over any hops. Relatively sweet and a bit fruity with strong cereal grain character and a pleasant bitter bite at the end. Medium carbonation with a medium body and clean finish. Very nice, but nothing amazing. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 28, 2005 Bottle (330ml). Poured hazy amberish-gold with an average frothy lingering white head, plent of lacing. Fairly generic aroma of mild malt, hops and dried flowers and some chemical tones - frankly quite vegetal on minimal warming, gets peppery too. Taste is honey-sweet hay, various grains, the alcohol is definitely present, as is the generic malt & hop flavour - finished a little more hop-bitter than the honeyish sweet start. Was a bit thin and tart on my palate - overall a little boring but pleasant enough. Eructoblaster (1480), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 23, 2005 Wonderful golden body with light but persisting carbonation. Thick and lasting off-white frothy head. Well balanced malty/hoppy aroma with various herbal, flowery, honeyish, and fruity notes. Taste is not as complex as the aroma is, but it is pleasant, sweet, and it hides the alcohol pretty well. It ends with a decent bittersweet finish. Good stuff!
