What a great aroma - mild, sweet and fruity without being cloying. Cloudy with no head, and a decent warming beer. Strong, smooth with a bit of bitterness after swallowing. Reminds me a bit of Duvel.

Bottle, LCBO Spring Release 2005. Yellow pour, small white head. Fresh corn smell - not macro corn, but the smell of a freshly husked cob of corn. Taste was slightly sweet and spicy over a medium mouthfeel. This was a very unique beer that I will sample again to try and get a better handle on it. For now, points for being interesting.

A nice suprise found at the LCBO. GOlden body, thin and bubbly white head. Aroma is spices, floral and some citrus. Taste is a spicy bite accompanied by some honey and citrus flavours. Finish is crisp, and sharp. My first bier de garde I think.

330 ml Bottle. LCBO Spring Release 2005. Golden yellow, small wispy white head. Fairly fruity and spicey aroma, and flavour is likewise. Alcohol was not noticeable. Meh. Boring and not really to my taste on this evening.

330ml brown bottle. Deep gold colour, thick and creamy head. Hops, caramel, fruity (pineapple, pear?) aromas. Strong note of toffee, some yeast, rich malt. Rather spicy, with an alcohol bite.

(Bottle) Pours a huge, foamy, white head and a highly carbonated, mildly sediment-filled, amber body. Nose of english hops, old fruit and cheezy malt... and it may be a tad tinny as well. The flavour is very raisin-like and malty. A much better taste than aroma. I like it!

UPDATED: JUL 11, 2005 Straightforward package of clean hops and slightly sticky malt sweetness. Interesting nose of green fruits. Very drinkable even new, alcohol noticeable but not overbearing. Decent size fine head leaving some lacings. Fizzy mouth. Solid brew with likable sweet corn character.

Golden and smooth with a slight bitterness that lingered for some time. The laceing was very impressive and it was a very gentle drink considering its strength. Highly recommended.

This bottled brew poured a large sized Head of foamy white colored finely sized bubbles that left behind a hazy softly carbonated light orange brown colored body and a fair lacing. The aroma was mild with malty yeasty grassy notes to it. The mouth feel was tingly and crisp with a lingering fruity finish. The flavor was good with malty and fruity notes.

Hazy light orange with a head plump in size and eloquent in its lacing and texture. Aroma is fairly well balanced between the malt (caramel, bread), hops (herbs) and yeast (barnyard funk) along with a touch of honey, hay, pear skins and peach. In the flavor, the first that strikes me is its resemblence to Affligem Triple in its sweet malt and yeast contribution. It’s a bit sweet overall, but it does have a unique rustic character that I enjoy. Notes of honey, light fruits and sugar covered rock candy (pineapple flavored). A pretty good beer that I definately enjoyed.
