3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
bottle dated 12-10-06. aroma has "that belgain funk" like it might be tart. app is hazy dark yellow. hardly any carbonation, maybe it all leaked out? Ha. taste is like WTF? not what I was expecting from the nose. smooth, slight taste from raw sugars in brewing. palate is ok, kinda neutral. I’m glad I didn’t pay too much for this beer. while it’s ok for the price, it left me wanting more complexity. I’d buy it again, but I can see why the store wanted to get rid of it to get better beers in. Maybe it was past it’s prime, not really sure.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from Finn sampled at RISKY-Nielsys summerhouse in Bodensee. Typical Biere de garde beer with dry flavor of weak fruits. Hazy light and not something special, but not that bad.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: JUN 14, 2008 750 cl bottle. Cloudy golden orange pour with moderate head. Funky hay, yeast, malt, grain on the nose. More of the same with added vegetable matter and menthol notes on the palate and a chalkiness in taste and mouthfeel that wasn’t very pleasant. I like funky beers, but this had some funk that didn’t seem to be intentional, and it certainly wasn’t expected from a Biere de Garde. Very different from, say, a Castelain Blond.

2.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 5/20
Bottle, bought @ Aakjærs, Esbjerg.
Pours clear golden with a big, frothy, white head. Aroma is malty, sweet with some notes of fruity oranges and brewing cereal. Fine, creamy mouthfeel. Sadly the flavour is marred by a clear vegetable note that overwhelms the notes of yeast and light caramel. Very sweet and not really my thing.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Finally got around to drinking this purchase I made last September in St. Louis. For some reason, as it sat in my beer rack, I remembered buying a lambic. Some memory. This is a traditional biere de garde. Fruity. Light. Not bad at all.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
There’s a picture showing the look, so im skipping that one. Aroma is that of sweet toffe along with some spicy notes. Flavor is again sweet malty with a soft fresh mouthfull and a very subdued alchohol.
