3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Hazy golden with small white head. Initial yeast nose, with some peppery spiciness & some mild sugary sweetness. with some heavy sniffing there is sort of a well-baked potato roasted aroma. Flavor is spicy, yeasty and with that same sugary sweetness & crisp in the finish.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
750ml bottle, refermented. Pours a peach amber with dissipating slightly frothy head. Lots of suspended sediment in the pour. The nose is very strong hay, like shoving your head in a barn, some weird notes like chlorine, sushi rice, and honeydew melon, very strong honey both on nose and palate, rather velvety, pretty solid body, medicinal herby bitterness on the slightly dry, lager-like finish. Not sure how this rates up against the style, the other biere de gardes seemed a lot maltier, but this one certainly seems unique, if not mind-blowing.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: APR 6, 2003 Nice golden hue with large creamy head--patchy spotted lace...Aroma is at once perfumy-sweet and lightly hoppy--an unusual combination, to say the least! Hops enter the taste door first, followed by a soft flowery sweetness...Controlled carbonation adds a spritely quality to the balance...Body is medium-light, and while there is a some counterbalancing of elements, these elements don't quite mesh together...However, this is most interesting for its floral profile...

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Smells very heavily of sunflower seeds and peanut shells. Could be good if it didn’t have so much of that going on.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Clear and golden, like apple juice. Light fizzy head. A little skunked and possesing a bitter cardboard flavor. Slightly sweet with a light caramel character, otherwise just a light, country ale. Yeast is a bit cloying. Overall, interesting but too many adjunct flavors to be deamed fine. Tastes of floride or heavily treated city water.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Sampled from magnum bottle. Pours a clear gold with a nice white head and remarkable lacing. Aroma has notes of sweet pears and leather. Flavor is spicy and very floral, almost like a rose water, with juniper. There is a tartness that may have been imparted by wild yeast. Medium-bodied and well-carbonated. Exceptional farmhouse saison. Welcome this is a farmhouse - Phish.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
This is basically a Belgian Ale, similar to 3 Monts or Grimbergen. Perhaps the acidicity is higher and the bitterness stonger but more brief. These taste like liquid baguettes.
