3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Shared by DenverLogan at the Pizza Port Bottle Shop with wetherel, thanks for sharing! Slightly hazy blond with some initial rocky white head. Somewhat musty cellar aroma with pear and orange citrus notes with a noticeable yeasty undertone. Sweet fruity flavors are pretty straight up and to the point, with a lightly bitter finish and lots of carbonation. Not bad.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours an amber to copper color, decent slightly off white colored head, spotty lacing. The aroma was caramel, musty, nuts. Flavor followed suit, caramel nuts, a tad sweet, but somewhat lager-like clean finish w/ some bittering hops (not a lot of flavor from them, earthy, a touch of grass). This thing came across a lot like an altbier, the first stored french beer that has done so? Decent stuff, mouthfeel full and a little sticky.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle. [thank you, Yespr]
Pours a light orange with a pretty, creamy off-white head. Aroma is sweet, caramel and lightly fruity. A little thin mouthfeel perhaps. Flavour is nice, lightly vinious and some malty sweetness. There are notes of tartness as well balncing nicely with the sweet graininess.

[975-20071215] 1pt9.4floz (Holiday Tasting 2007 @ Cole’s, Buffalo, NY). Strange boozy grass yeast malt aroma has a bit of fresh plant leaf. Clear, amber orange body with a medium-lasting creamy off-white head. Sweet boozy malt grain flavour has a hint of paint can. Boozy medium body. Awesome with Buffalo chicken wings.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
750 ml bottle aged about a year after purchase.
Pours relatively dark red-brown with a very modest head. Lovely, lovely nose: complex with hops, wood, vanilla, spices. Flavor doesn’t quite match up, it comes on a bit too heavy on a cinnamon (and other winter spices) and a bit too sweet, but nonetheless is quite nice and again, as with the aroma, is extremely complex. Mouthfeel is beautiful for sipping, not the least bit hot or heavy but entirely full.
As many of the reviewers have noted, this is a very interesting, very good beer that somehow fall just short of greatness.
