COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Stronger, fuller flavored version of the classic bičre de garde. The New York Times (your Paper of Record) just anointed this beer the ultimate bičre de garde, and rightly so. It’s a rich, rare treat from one of France’s old guard craft breweries. Be there or be square.

Had during a beer tasting party. Poured reddish brown and tastes of sweet broth. Not really the most enjoyable to me.

750 ml. Deep amber body with a big, frothy, foamy off-white head. The head slowly subsides to fizzy pools. Malty aroma with notes of cookie and caramel and a backbone of yeasty earthiness, though not pronounced. The flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter and lightly acidic. It finishes moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic and lightly bitter. Medium body, watery texture and lively carbonation. Aroma is better than flavor with its muted spice flavors and a grain bill that seems in competition with them. The finish is close to unpleasant, leaving a lingering taste of raw grain in the mouth and in the mouthfeel.

Bottle at Farmers Cabinet. Slightly hazy dark orange pour. Foamy off-white head. Very little aroma (when cold at least.) Muted mellow Christmas brew. Roasted chestnuts. Appears to be a witbier hiding beneath a now more golden Noel ale. Fluffy red fruit. Golden raisins. Vanilla malt. Juicy but notably muted back end.

Alcool on the nose, lively carbonation. nice malt taste withsome ops. Has a familiar friend kind of taste. It felt a bit harsh on my throat, and a bit too much alcohol i think.

A hazy amber beer with a thin light orange head. The aroma is malty with notes of wood, while the flavor is sweet malty with notes of over ripe fruits and wood. Somewhat boring.
