Bottle conditioned. Good stout flavours - roasted barley with touches of dark chocolate and coffee. As with the other Cornue beers this was infected. Interestingly the brewery also makes a beer vinegar......

fiulijn (10440) - Como, ITALY - OCT 11, 2005
Black color; big head; unfortunately the bottle neck is filthy yeasty (as all their beers!). Simple aroma, revealing some infection. The flavor is better, a bit malty with a lot of caramel, light toastiness, but also a light infection.
These brewers are so unprofessional!

Bov (7364) - Bienne, SWITZERLAND - JUL 29, 2005
labelled as Bière de garde, thanks to fiulijn - a 4 corn-beer; dark brown colour and a solid creamy and slightly brown-tainted head, aroma of marzipan, butter and caramel with also a note of ginger, creamy mouthfeel, sweet with a high carbonation, soft caramel and bready finish - interesting dessert beer

Papsoe (23023) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - MAY 1, 2005
UPDATED: JUN 23, 2005 (Bottle 75 cl) I don’t believe I’ve ever had a Provence-beer before. Very complex on the ingredients with buckwheat, oats and rye. And organic too. Black rather than brown with a pronounced brownish head. Sweetish yes, but the dry hoppiness dominates. Combined with a rather high alcohol this almost comes out as an "Imperial Stout". 090904
