3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 madsberg (7570) - Søborg, DENMARK - NOV 1, 2006
Bottled. Light golden coloured. Foggy. White dense head. Sweetish and sugary note. Fruits and some light alcholnotes. Light spices. Flavour of berries and alcohol. Sweetness is there as well and some vague spices. Is quite mild and quite balanced. Alcoholwarming end with notes of ripe fruits. Gets a bit too much in the long run.

Bottled (7%). Pale yellow colour, HUGE white creamy head. Aroma is fruit, alcohol and slightly glueish. Some yeast and candy sugar in it also. Flavour is sweet sugar with hints of yeast and earth. Some vanilla and fruits also. Unbalanced. Where’s the rum?
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 bierkoning (8109) - La Tropica, NETHERLANDS - OCT 23, 2006
8% on the label. Blonde, hazy, frothy head. Flowery citric aroma with a touch of cologne. Sweet flavor with citrus. Sugary with cologne. I really can’t taste the rhum. A touch of alcohol, hidden by the sugary sweetness, that’s all.
1.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 3/20 Bov (7364) - Bienne, SWITZERLAND - OCT 9, 2006
hazy dark orange colour with a giant and creamy white head; the aroma is strongly yeasty with notes of rum; sweet and lemondy palate; aftertaste of benzine, sugars and alcohol - what a bad beer ...
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 sayravai (4548) - Helsinki, FINLAND - SEP 30, 2006
(Bottled, 7% ABV, brewed by Brasserie de Silly) Hazy yellow-golden color with a huge, foamy, duvel-like, lacy and cloud-forming head. Mild, fruity, hoppy aroma with lavender and some rosemary. Sweet-honey-sugary-malty flavor with licoricey rhum hints and some corn. Strongly sugary-sweet in both finish and aftertaste. As most Belgians, gets smoother with yeast. Alcohol gets lost in the sweetness. Medium-bodied, sugary-sweet palate with foamy carbonation. A good starting point for a rhum’n’cola lover wanting to get to know beers, with lots of sweetness, not much hops or acidity, and rhum on top (and it doesn’t even taste much in it ;).

2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 TBone (9433) - Pori, FINLAND - SEP 5, 2006
Bottled (BB 04/2008).
Strong blonde mixed with rum ... hmm. A bit hazy pale yellow color, huge white Duvel-like white head. Lemony, slightly fruity and grassy nose. Very alcoholic, very sweet - sugary and fruity sweet. Some grassy notes. Not rum found here - or maybe it is Stroh type extra strong one which is added here. Unbalanced, just too sweet and too much alcoholic burn here. I prefer good European strong lager for this combination.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 MiP (11783) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - APR 27, 2006
Bottle. Very cloudy golden colour, small floaties. No head. Weak fruity, apricot, syrupy aroma. Semi-thick mouthfeel. Sweet flavour. The sweetness seems to come from the rum, but without rum’s usual sickly tendencies. Candyish flavour, but OK balanced. big floaties at the bottom, creepy-looking, sperma/infection-looking things.
