Sample at GABF 10/13/2012, thanks to Bluemeow76 for assistance with note-taking. The beer pours bronze with a medium off-white head and short strings of lacing. The aroma is hoppy with some sweet fruit and malt. Medium to full body with flavors of herbal hops, citrus and grainy malt. The finish is citrusy with a lingering hops aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Orangish pour with a mostly white head. GABF. Aroma of tropical fruit, tangerine, unripe stone fruits and caramel malts. Flavor is nicely bitter, tropical fruits, some malty sweetness, grapefruit peel. Damn good! Great brewery.

Love this double ipa. Very hoppy, right around 100+ ibu’s. Has similarities in character to la cumbre’s regular ipa. Very good stuff.

Pint at the brewery. Dark golden color with small white head. Hazy with good lacing. Aroma is predominantly apricot and slightly floral with some pine. Somewhat similar to Marble IPA in aroma, which is a good thing. Flavor is dominantly bitter as one would expect. Slight bit of sweetness there as well. Nice body with sticky mouthfeel and softly carbonated. Predominantly bitter finish. A very nice beer.

Growler. Pours a golden orange color with an off white head. Aroma is of grapefruit, filled with tropical fruit notes of pineapple and passion fruit, sweeter citrus fruits like orange and tangerine and peach. The flavor follows the nose and is super fruity, lots of tropical fruit the passion fruit and pine apple, a little bit of alcohol, orange, tangerine, peach and grapefruit. The body is medium with a dry mouth feel. Overall a really great DIPA, this one really surprised me!
