5269 miles to be exact. But with this Kolsch-style ale served in its traditional stange glass, who needs to fly all that way?* We started with 2 Pilsner malts, wheat malt, 3 varieties of German hops and a yeast strain sourced from Cologne, we did our best to make a beer that is as true to its roots as possible. And, as this is served in a 7 oz. glass, there is a limit of 12...yes 12 glasses of this golden delicious elixir. If your done drinking it, just put a coaster over your glass. Again, as in Cologne, once your half way, we will be placing another in front of you until you let us know your done. *La Cumbre Brewing Co., it’s employees, principles, and affiliates think that Cologne is a lovely city worth a visit whether your going for the wonderful beer at the riverfront cafes or to view some of the midievel architecture. We would never encourage you not to travel and see all this wonderful world has to offer.

Sampled from the tap at the brewery. Pours a clear light yellow with a white head that dissipates to the edges and laces. Aroma has notes of earthy grains with a bit of bread and cookie. Flavor is mainly grains with a bit of cookie and grain backing.

Tap @ Brewery: Has a delicate white head that didn’t persist. Very low to no Pils malt aroma. A pleasant, subtle fruit aroma is in there. Soft, rounded palate comprising of a delicate flavor balance between soft yet attenuated malt, an almost imperceptible fruity sweetness from fermentation, and a medium-low to medium bitterness with a delicate dryness and slight pucker in the finish (but no harsh aftertaste). Overall, I really like the Kolsch style and am happy it is in the hands of the folks at La Cumbre.

Tap at brewpub May 2012-pours lightly hazy lite yellow with a very soapy white head. nose is very lite mostly consisting of lite sweet cereal, lite mineral aspects and lite spicy hops, flavors are sweet pale malt, lite cereal with a very nice dose of spicy hops. not overly bitter however, very refreshing. a true representation of this style. more bitterness came out as it warmed up a bit. lovely long finish lots of spicy hops, lite pils malt and lingering bitterness from the noble hops used here. Well done once again Erway!

On tap at the brewery. Really well done. Shows off the malt incredibly well. And the malt is very "light" but oh so flavorful. Like if you were a horse and ate the best fucking hay you’ve ever had, and then got drunk.

On tap at the brewery. Clear sparkling yellow with average-sized white head. Good lacing throughout. Aroma is subtly grain and straw. Light bodied with slick mouthfeel. Average carbonation. Lightly sweet and moderately bitter, this is a very enjoyable brew for a warm summer day.
