Tap @ La Cumbre. Pours a hazy reddish brown appearance with a tan head. Gingerbread, nutmeg, caramel, toasty malty nose. A bit spritzy. Ginger, spicy cinnamon, light toffee, caramel flavor. Strange but decent.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear deep amber with a thick white head. Aroma of spices, especially cinnamon and ginger, as well as sweet malt. Flavor is also spice-heavy, mostly ginger, with anise star, clove, nutmeg, fig, and a hint of cinnamon. Pretty tasty and drinkable for the style. Dry palate and not too sweet.

On tap at the brewery. Murky dark ruby in color with a small creamy off-white head. Aroma is predominately banana and clove. Full bodied with creamy mouthfeel and soft carbonation. Moderately sweet with spices- the first time I’ve had any kind of beer that was a hybrid Belgian / spiced ale. Very good and I was quite impressed with this.

Only a hint of bitterness at the end that dissipated quickly enough to enjoy the delightful taste and full flavor.
