750ml bottle. Clear orange body, medium to small beige head with good retention, some lacing. Aroma of sweet malt, herbs, floral hops, caramel, yeast. Taste dominated by a bold amount of yeast, sweet malt, herbal hops, caramel, touch of coriander, alcohol. Dry and mineral. Alcohol a little too prominent.

750 mL bottle. Pours amber caramel with a thick white head and lots of lacing. Nose of banana, coconut, bread yeast, caramel malt, allspice and a touch of smoke. Fairly sweet, medium bodied with a full mouth feel. Interesting and unique but a little sweet for my liking.

Spab (1639) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 6, 2013
750 ml bottle from LCBO. Pours a clear golden orange with decent-sized, lasting white head and some retention. Aroma is cereal grains, pepper/spice and fruit. Flavour is apple and other sweetish, tropical fruit, honeyish grains, peppery spiciness and some earthy funk at the end. Alcohol is fairly gentle for the ABV. Pretty good.

750 mL bottle. Copper with a small, almost white head. The aroma is Belgian, dried apples, a little bock-ish. This one is a little boozier than it needs to be, and it could be a little drier as well. Otherwise the flavour is good, with orchard fruit, a little smoke (!?), good body for the style. A little bitterness, not much.

Fragrance of applesauce. Color is golden yellow and has an unstable head. Taste a bit sweet and slightly bitter.

First time with this style, bottle from the LCBO. A nice, refreshing beer, again, can’t really compare this with others of the style. Pours copper with a nice, off-white head. The beer goes down easy; the 8% abv is not really noticeable. Caramelized malt flavour with some grass and bread flavour--all of it is pretty light. A nice note of hops in the finish, which is slightly bitter. Overall a nice beer that I would seek out again.

Clear copper pour, medium white head. Lovely grassy, fresh hay, cereals aroma. Finish is spicy, and fruity. Light tropical fruit, more grassy hops, medium bitter finish. Very refreshing.

Aroma of caramelized malt. Pours dark amber with ok head and lacing. Medium bubbly carbonation. Finishes slightly bitter, a little oaky astringency and sweet. Some light burnt taste here. Bottle.
