Light amber color. Peaches and cream in the nose. Moderately hoppy, peaches and cream with some apricots. Ok, but doesn’t really float my boat.

Merry Christmas to me...evil north of France 750 for me. Fruity aroma of yeast, butter and sugar. Glowing orange appearance. Tastes of metal, tart salt, and sugar. Too sticky to be called dry, although thin enough to be quaffable. This type of beer is an acquired taste, like the beef stew it stood up next to this afternoon.

750 ml bottle from LCBO, served at cellar temperature in a tulip glass. 15.06.14 L50.5.10.

App.: Clear deep golden/light amber with a so-so white head. Aroma: Awful...buttery, oxidized, fruity, wet cigar ash, alcohol, yeast, citrus, Belgian esters, biscuity malt, honey, cloying sweetness, slightly earthy, messy. Palate: Medium+ body, fine, somewhat relaxed effervescence. Flav.: Quite fruity, dirtier than the nose, sweet but not quite cloying, fairly pronounced alcohol, slightly buttery, oxidized, a complete mess; off dry with basically no bitterness and an oddly thin finish that leaves a little dirty, oxidized fruitiness.

At least I can keep the swing-top bottle. Drain pour!

33cl bottle into tulip. Lille. Appearance: golden copper with puffy white head that quickly dissipated. Aroma: citrus, hops, caramel. Taste: mid sweet with slightly bitter finish. Palate: full and pretty rich. Carbonation gives good mouthfeel. Longer finish. Overall: I actually think this Is a pretty refreshing beer. Would probably be the best Bert available on a hot summer day. It’s not really complex, but tabs good drink.

(50 cl can from Proximarché in Riez) Pours a clear golden with little, white head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is somewhat malty and boozy. Watery texture, medium to light body, medium carbonation and a slightly sweet and fruity finish. Flavour is mostly sweet but slightly astringent. Not really my style.
