Aroma is wood and a little bitter citrus. Flavor is sweet and spicy with caramel, toffee, and some dark fruit. A little fruit bitterness in the finish. Pretty standard French/Belgian ale, but that’s not exactly a bad thing.

Bottled Booths. Interesting chalk and concrete notes, but soon taken over by soapy pineapple and peach flavours. Smooth sweetness, light Belgian yeastiness. Lovely gold/amber appearance. Plummy finish. A characterful beer

330ml bottle, pours straw gold with a foamy white head. Aroma is caramel malt, banana, peppery spiciness. Drinks smooth for the abv. Body is light, texture is oily, carbonation is average. Finish is medium sweet, lightly bitter.

33cl bottle bb04/2016 from Colmar. (Overly) Clean transparent golden pour. Nose of diluted honey, some toast and warning alcohol. Herbal, metallic hops join faintly almond-like refined pale malts offering up some notes of apricot and apple, before drifting off into amped, boozy Imperial Pilsner nomansland, towards a clean, almost Calvados/jenever finish with a bitter herbal hop insistence. Biere de Garde/Tripel crossover in that respect. Overall rather well done, but a bit of an onslaught.

Heavy on the marzipan flavours. It’s okay but it’s a bit sickly to be honest.

Blond colour beer, very enjoyable, didn’t taste overly strong despite the 8.5% ABV
