Pours a clear golden color. Very appealing aroma of baked apples, some sweetness, it’s also kind of nutty. Very good flavor of baked apples, pears, some nuts, some sweetness. This is yet another solid product from La Face Cachée de la Pomme.

Courtesy TheCheeseMan. Well, what can I say? This is another fantastic cider from the king of the genre, La Face Cachée. Like the rest, this one pours a dark golden color with a still, dense body. A tilt of the glass reveals thick, leggy sheeting that slowly glides its way back towards the body. Like all Cachée ciders, the nose just pops. Aromas of tart green apples and sweet, musty, aged red ones are intertwined with hints of vanilla and toasty oak. Flavors, too, are simply outstanding. An intensely sweet reduction of apples is further deepened with a light vanilla crème glaze and hints of acidic, tart wood. Slick and full on the palate, the interplay between sweet and tart is nearly unparalleled. If I had to sum this up into two words, it would be "simply awesome." Nobody else does ciders like these guys, plain and simple.

Pours a glowing copper orange. Aroma is everything that is so great with ice cider, sweet stewed apples, some vanilla and spice, a slight toasted aroma. The flavor is intensely sweet, with the sweet apples leading the charge, there are some interesting tropical notes as well. Another masterpiece.

[1399-20080530] Bottle. Aroma of dried apple barrel slats sprinkled with sugar. Light amber yellow body with no head. Sweetened baked apple flavour. Medium body. Quite nice.

amazing aroma of thick syrupy apples, with loads of honey, and some floral notes. The flavour is much of the same. so sweet, and a touch sour, and exceptional cider

I took it as woody (and did the man at the booth say "leaves?"; might be a language thing). Same underlying apple as the Neige, he explained. The apples are strongest in the aroma, but the flavor is where the action is: flowery, apples, a touch of spice and wood. Definitely good quality but I didn’t actually like it very much. Objectively speaking: Anoher brilliant ice cider from the masters.
I like: Brilliant concentration. While present, the alcohol is fitting and feels even necessary to sustain the rich liquorous body. Floral, mature, ripe apple flavours, akin to Neige, but perhaps less acidic and nuttier, older.
I dislike: Excessively thin. Trace hops.

2008-05-30. Golden yellow body. (3+) Sweet sugary notes, tart apple skins, mild apple and fruit notes in aroma (7+). Flavour is sweet fruity apple, with tart-acidic apple highlights. Very nice. (8+) Smooth medium bodied palate. Solid. Bottle, 2005 Vintage, Mondial, Montreal, 5T trio

Thanks to puzzl. Poured clear thick and gold. Sweet apples right in the face. Apple flash and skin just super super fresh and concentrated. The flavor of course apples, both red and green. Great warmth. So tasty. Smooth somewhat syrupy body.

Thanks to puzzl for sharing this treat. Pale golden pour, thick with sticky legs. Rich sweet aroma of apples, nutmeg, apple seeds and a bit of pepper. Spicy and tannic. The flavour has lower malic acidity than I like in ice ciders, but that is a minor quibble. Lightly nutty, richly sweet, and delicious.
