Sample at Tom’s. Hazy brown pour. Aroma of apple sauce, rich spicy apple pie notes. Taste is nice and warming really nice apple flavor, fruity appleness, low alcohol, really fruit forward. Really tasty stuff.

Bottle (375 ml). Vintage 2009. Hazy deep amber/golden with nice legs. Aroma is interesting and quite different than most La Face Cachée with ripe apples, white wine, nice tartness, alcohol and light sweetness. Taste is moderately sweet with ripe apples, nice tartness, alcohol and light earthy bitterness. Full bodied. Juicy. A tad oily too. Slightly tannic finish. Light pepperiness. Another impressive product by La Face Cachée. Super tasty. Mouthfeel is awesome. I loved it!

Sample @ RBWG, Asheville. Thanks to MaxxDaddy!!! Slightly hazy deep golden amber pour with a small head. Crazily intense condensed apple. Musty and earthy apple skin. These ice ciders don’t mess about. The taste is a wallop of hot honey and crisp red apple. Simple, but amazingly agreeable. Medium body, oily and slick. Great stuff.

2013-01-18 - with blankboy, jercraigs & mabel - 375ml clear bottle c/o J&K. 2007 vintage. Hazy refractive gold, not much head, nice legs. Aroma - ahhhhh - ripe apple, a hint of light white wine, a nice bit of musty tartness, definite alcohol - classy and yerm yessir moresir. Taste is wonderful - perfectly balanced light tartness and sweet ripe acidic apple, no bitterness or over-the-top booziness, just smoothness and goodness. Slick, thick, not much carbonation but why would there be? - ear-warming warmth, an aftertaste to bring a smile to the lips (which are still a bit sticky - shut up! that’s not what she said!) ... one of the most enjoyable ice ciders I have ever had.

2009 Vintage
Tasted on 2/7/14 from a corked 375mL wine style bottle at the Friday night tasting at RBWG Asheville, thanks to MaxxDaddy for sharing. Pours hazy pale bronze with no head. The nose is the most intense red apple I could imagine, a bit sweet, and some cheesy yeast aroma. The flavor is pure, unadulterated sweet red apple with a hint of the same cheesy yeast. The body is viscous syrup, no carbonation, and a long dessert wine finish. This truly is something special.

2009 bottle shared by MaxxDaddy at RBWG - thanxx, Maxx! Your wale game is strong, young man. Pours a hazed gold with no head. Apples - so sweet and apple-forward, kind of like an applie pie. Medium-bodied, with low carbonation and a rich, coating mouthfeel. Very good, but I didn’t respond to this one quite the same way others did that night. Palate fatigue? The expectations of the others I’ve had? I don’t know. Still excellent.

>> Thank you MaxxDaddy for the share. Cloudy, amber gold pour with insane legs. Nose is pure apple pie, thick buttery crust. Taste is pure glory of god: lightly tart, beautiful apple pie, mild tannic balance for light bitterness. Palate is holy **** juicy. This one comes together very well to make one of the best ice ciders I’ve had and no surprise from this premier producer. This one was absolutely out of control. Essentially perfect.

Bottle shared at the fantastic Downtown Hotel tasting during RBWG 2014 - Asheville. Vintage 2009. Huge thanks to the biggest daddy of them all, MaxxDaddy. Pours clear, rich gold with minimal head. Gorgeous nose, all rich apple sauce. Delicious, immense flavor, rife with ripe apples, intense and concentrated apple sugars. Full bodied, soft, oily. Warming finish with decadent ripe apple character, more apple sauce. Heavenly. Delectable.

Bottle shared by Max at RBWG 2014, thanks! Pours a hazzy amber orange with a thin white head that dissipates completely. Aroma has a rich apple note that is mainly sweet with a bit of dryness and a touch of tartness. Flavor has a great rich apple note that starts sweet but adds a touch of tartness.
