Opaque golden yellow, white lasting, lacing foam head. Nice barley aroma and taste, warm alcohol feeling, just enough. (Durbuy 201608)

Bottle of 33cl, in a Trappist glass; from the fridge. Good "barn-beer" : a wonderfull dark orange beer, with aroma of cereal and tastes of nuts. The palate is more cereal too. Go fo it

Very murky, nice head. Bubbly but Belgian style at all, especially considering its origin. Amber malts, biscuit, bit of an English style yeast feel. Different than I expected for sure. But a nice change of pace. (On tap at the brewpub)

Kolor herbaciany, u podstawy kieliszka pomara?czowy.

(Bottle, 0.75 l, at One Pint Pub, 20150516) The beer poured deep amber and cloudy. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had malts, caramel and Belgian style yeast. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, sweetness, spiciness, clove, Belgian style yeast and bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet and bitter. A clean, sweet and spicy brew. Nothing impressive though.

Bottled@HBF2015. Slightly hazy ambery red colour with a mediumsized off-white head. Aroma is wood, some caramel, spices, mild yeast, citrus and some spruce and pine like notes. Flavour is more traditional sweet malts meeting some fruity and floral notes along with quite a big spiced and yeasty edge to it.

UPDATED: MAR 15, 2016 The house beer of La Ferme au Chêne in Durbuy, brewed at their premises by Danny Prignon of Fantôme once a year. Thick, stable, off-white head, colour a deep amber with copper hue, clear but cloudy after adding the deposit. Aroma of dried leaves, bitter honey, tobacco, caramel, mint, hazelnuts, orange peel, tonic water. Dry citrussy onset of orange peel, fresh, rounded, mellow with a caramelly and lightly nutty maltiness in the middle, spicy yeastiness, long leafy hop bitterness in the end. Not far away from Fantôme’s own saisons but, let’s say, more accessible. Update: re-tasted last weekend and it has become even more clean and less ’Fantôme-like’, more middle of the road as it were, so I wonder if it’s still Danny Prignon who brews this these days... I therefore have to revise my rating to an average of both.
