Dark brown color, big tan/beige head. Floating yeast. Yeast, glue and dark malts in the nose. Full-bodied. Very yeasty, portwineous notes, sweet dark-malty flavor. Some spicey notes. Aftertaste is very sweet. Propably you shouldn’t pour this with yeast. Very craft beer -like brew and very rare stuff, thanks for this to OPP gang. oh6gdx (5195), Vaasa, Finland Feb 11, 2008 Bottled. Brownish amber colour, beige head. Aroma is sour fruits, mild acidicness and some caramel too. Flavour is sour fruits, acidicness and a bit of licorice and sweet notes of ryebread. Dark brown, healthy head. Rich sweet malty aroma. Healthy carbonation. Sweet burnt malt taste, liquorice. Covers the alcohol fairly well. sayravai (3018), Helsinki, Finland Feb 9, 2008 (Bottled) Dark brown with a small, quite lasting head. Herby-licoricey aroma with some spices and hints of alcohol. Acidic-licoricey, rye-puddingy, toffee-grainy-malty flavor with hints of alcohol. Medium-bodied palate with smooth carbonation. Again, a bit homebrew-like, but a reasonably nice winter brew. JorisPPattyn (4247), Antwerpen, Belgium Dec 23, 2007 Dark red-chestnut beer with a small yellow-beige head. Dark malts, dark bread, a bit spicy, and old, dried fir branches as from last years’ X-mas tree. Oppressive dark malts and dry spices’ taste. It wears off a bit leaving a mainly sweet-bready, sugary main taste, not very distinctive. Quite full-bodied, slick, even syrupy. Not that special, which is a pity, seen the new initiative.
