Bottle from Terre de Boissons, Calais. Estery, malty Belgian blonde. It’s what Belgium does well, a Belgian ale so distinctive. Took 2 decants to get the carbonation down to an acceptable level. Pretty good peppery hop on the finish. Yep just a good Belgian ale. I like the yeast, the mouthfeel, the fruit the esteriness the peppery finish.

Clear light orange beer, irregular off-white head, unstable, dissipates immediately, adhesive, nice lacing. Aroma: oranges, bit metallic, zesty, some almonds, honey, bit soapy. MF: ok carbon, medium to light body. Taste: sweet start, honey, overripe banana, orange peel, and is it coriander? Marmelade, little bitter. Aftertaste: orange peel, metallic, some almonds, grains, bitter touch.

Bottle: Poured a murky yellow with a fluffy white head. Aroma is pungent, sour, grain. Taste is a steep bitter grain, might be past its best buy date. Not a very pleasant aftertaste!

(Bottle at One Pint on 2008-02-21) Ligh golden colour, almost clear. Fruity and yeasty nose. Fruity taste with some bitter hops. Bitterness increases in aftertaste. Sweetness, a bit too much of it.

Very thick-set, slowly collapsing, just off-white head over hazy golden beer. Candi sugar, as well as all kinds of vegetable aroma’s, and citrus; touch of sournes in the nose (pickles?). Sweet, with a spicy, very yeasty imprint, and a faint impression of acidity, and I mean acetic. Again like preserved vegetables, and even a meaty ester. Very slick, grist slickness, medium bodied. Seems not fermented out, somehow. Badly kept, stocked, transported? Poor, anyhow.
