Tasted on my travels through France this past summer. Purchased at a small wine shop in Fontainebleau, France, shortly after touring the Palace at Fontainebleau. These regional, small production French beers are so intriguing to me. This particular one was displayed in a corked & caged 750 mL with a very attractive label. Murky dark brown color with a small, short-time, light mocha colored head. Incredible aromatics, hints of chocolate, plums, caramel, alcohol and grapes. Flavor is full of figs, cocoa and oak. Seems like a cross between a Dry Stout and a Belgian Dubbel. Enjoyed this one a lot. Probably one of the rarest beers I’ve ever had.
