3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 dirkbreedveld (286) - NETHERLANDS - NOV 16, 2005
Nice yellow golden color, clear, not so foamy head it disappears quickly. Smell of hopps and sweet malts. First taste impression is sweetish at first but than the bitters fill in the aftertaste. Nice and pleasant alternative to Leffe Blond.
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 highlandlad (1375) - Blue Mountains, AUSTRALIA - OCT 21, 2005
Sessionable Belgian blonde, highly drinkable but not especially memorable. Poured a syrupy gold with a tall, aerated and noisy head that frothed and bubbled as it settled. Strong, fairly alcoholic aroma of dusty hops. Hint of bubblegum and citrus, but overall a little short on distinction. Quite grabby carbonation at first sip - fairly fizzles at the front of the mouth. Medium-bodied. Subtle flavour profile - lemon tartness with melon fruitiness. Short alcoholic bite and some spice in the finish. An easy quaffer for its 6.3% abv. (33cl bottle, IBS, Perth, bb 24/10/06)
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 ALLOVATE (2101) - Butler, AUSTRALIA - OCT 15, 2005
Decent, easy drinking quaffer and the smaller, friendlier brother of the Brune. Tasted from the bottle into a chalice, quite cool. Hazy, yellow-gold body with fine particles of yeast caught in suspension. Well conditioned, fine carbonation rose to a short, tight white crown of foam that was mainly lasting and left some legs. Enticing, but typical, sweet, juicy melonous, cantaloupe and honeydew, nose with some lemon citrus zing and a lot of candi. Quite light in the mouth, spritzy carbonation cold seems to smooth out as it warms. Hints of vanilla and candi upfront for sweetness before becoming oh so lightly tart mid-palate with hints of peaches and apricots with some cantaloupe mixed in. Short in the finish with some herbal notes just before the swallow. Quite fruity, but delicate and sessionable. Cold, you could down it in quick succession like a pale lager; cool, you could afford to sit on it for a quiet moment. Not bad!!! (33cL, Morley Liquor Merchants, 07/12/06)

Not as good as the brune but still a pretty decent triple. Pretty bitter taste. Had this one on a train and had to drink out of a plastic cup, should try it again.

(Bottle 33 cl) 6,8% ABV in my version. Hazy, golden beer with a fine fluffy head. Fruity nose, fruity flavours - coriander? - very soft mouthfeel. Almost no bitterness. A pleasant beer that wouldn’t offend anyone. Easy to finish, easy to forget. 200398
