I had this beer a while ago and I remember being thoroughly enjoyable, with a particularly enticing note of coconut (roasted and coconut milk) on the aroma and flavour.

Bottle into a bowl shaped glass. Dark brown with a large bubbly head. Malty and starchy aroma. Chocolate malt, very sweet, caramel. A little sickly, but otherwise fairly good. Lacks body.

06.06.2013. 0,33l Bottle. Vinmonopolet Haugesund. Dark brown colour with white to off-white head. Rather rich aroma of brown sugar, alcohol, yeast and dark malts. Body is rich with firm strong flavours of sweet dark malts. Notes of brown sugar, yeast and there is a very smooth and sweet flavour of dark malts. Soft but strong beer with lots of flavours.

Pours a dark ruby brown with a big fluffy beige head. Aroma is sweet dark fruits, caramel and brown syrup. Taste is incredibly sweet caramel, purple fruits, grape, and a small nuttiness.

Really big head! Beer looks quite brown but when you watch it towards the sun it’s almost bright red, beautiful looking beer. Scent has sweet berries, blackcurrant popping up, and sweet caramel with some herbs and toffee. Taste has more dark feel, with dried plums and resins and lots of caramel malts. Quite hard carbonation, I was expecting more softness. A bit too sweet for me.

Tiny white head. Smell of caramel and brown syrup. Taste has almost a shocking alcohol burn with some fruit, caramel and brown sugar. Sweet and bitter aftertaste. I little bit too alcoholic, but still a nice beer.

Bottle. Pours a deep red brown colour with a white head, malty aroma, the taste is bitter at first which leads to a dry finish.

Deep brown with a burgundy gleam and a lasting head of beige foam The nose is pretty strong, sweet yet not sugary, also slightly sourish and some hops coming through A roasted, malty, full bodied taste, touches of caramel but overall not sweet at all and not too bitter either. Surprisingly little alcohol. The aftertaste mixes light bitterness from the roast with velvety smooth maltiness. Nice and solid brew.
