Bottle. A deep dark amber (lightly hazy). Head is creamy and off-white. Fruity aroma, some cherries, some dark sugar and caramel. Quite a full mouthfeel. Flavour is quite sweet, based on a lot of caramel base and a fruity edge. It ends up with a slight citric bitterness.

0.75 l bottle. Reddish brown color with diminishing head. Sweet aroma with dark sugar, caramel, licorice, chocolade, rose, plum and some dull maltiness. Sugary flavor with lots of caramel, toffee and dark fruits. Spiciness which does not mix well with the dark malt flavors.

750ml bottle. Important - serve the yeast in all the glasses, it will smooth the flavour for all drinkers. Belgian finess brings an interesting melange of strength and smooth. One to end an evening with. (Tasted with Tranquility.)

Deep red with an ok head. Traditional dubbel yeasty aroma of darkfruits, raisin, plums, along with some porty notes. Very sweet sticky flavor, as lots of brown sugar has been added. Palate isnt very smooth but rather tickling, sparkling. Warming sweet finish

A Mes rate: Cask at Lowlander. Very red looking. Really quite a pretty beer. Quite obviously breaded in the nose with definite hints of moules too. Sweet flavour with brown sugar and liquorice. Usually that description of taste would have me all over it like a flannel but here it is only so so.
