Dickinsonbeer (3434), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA Feb 5, 2009 On tap at Blind Tiger. Pours a hazy golden with a nice fluffy white head and some good lace. Aroma is orange zest right away, with earthy phenolics good doughy yeast character and a creamy yet somewhat sharp wheat malt kick. Flavor is yeasty phenolic- bubblegum- lemon and orange citrus with a lemony twang of an acidic kick at the end- somewhat tart. Nice double wit. nuplastikk (1159), Madison, Wisconsin, USA Feb 3, 2009 750ml corked bottle. Murky orange-tan color. Picked up at State Line Liquors in MD, no way to tell how long it’s been sitting on the shelf. The carbonation seems a little low, but the smooth creaminess really works for this one. Whereas a lot of other Double Whites have a rather detectable upped alcohol presence, this one is perfectly incorporated/covered. Mild aroma as well. Sweet, light on the palate, and creamy. Bare minimal hopping. Very sessionable and delicious. Doesn’t exactly blow me away like some Belgians, but it is really quality and recommended for fans of Wits, and Belgian Pale Ales. Gets better the towards the end with the yeast poured in. travita (1851), Frisco, Texas, USA Jan 20, 2009 Bottle thanks to bu11zeye.
